Yes, mine is a simple and short nickname given to me through no fault of my own.

Nice to see you are still around!

I no longer play games so the LGA wins shoukd increase.

Oh come on give the guy a break, I have a great deal of respect for those playing the LGA. It must take a certain amount of perseverance knowing that the only games you can win are those that the rules give an unfair bias. I am so thankful that there are people prepared to take on the French mantle.

 :D :)

I think we all can debate the bias of each and every game until we turn blue in the face. A very old he said, she said of these games.

I for one have found a small set of opponents that work well for me. That's what it's all about. Play pretty much the same set of guys in most of my Clubs. I am just interested in playing and having fun. I get busy a lot so I need folks who understand that. I'm not a rules junkie and will no doubt get my a$$ kicked....but the guys I play are cool, laid back and we just have fun. It's all about finding the right folks to play.....

Salute!

As Scott (Ludwig) said above, it is is very interesting how one finds gravity towards the same group of people to play the games with.

All about fun and exploring simulated military conundrums.

That said, I have learned to broaden the circle now and then, playing someone new to increase the meeting and sharing of minds, as it were.

Also a nice way to counter the perils of group think.

Regards,

I've done the same, that's how I've added a few folks to my group that I play. I've also played others and it was fine and would like to play some of them again, but either by the time I asked they were booked up or I just don't remember to actually do it again.... 8)

But I tend to be a creature of habit and if I like playing a guy, I'll keep playing him. I find there are times where I can lightening round my way through a scenario with a couple of them due to their schedules or where they are timezone wise. In some of my other Clubs I've branched out a bit more, due to duties or the fact that I like to try and engage folks more....but here it is a pretty set group. Napoleonics frustrates me the most, so it is ok if I loose to the same guys all the time. Feels like I am adding to their career....

I am new to this scene - but - I like to be able to say - gotcha - or - Damn you got me you B****** - without animosity. Will play someone who can beat me every time just to see if for one small moment I can have a small but insignificant victory if they are fun to play.

Oh yes those small victories are worth it a lot, I know. :D I often happen to have the dear habit of losing in the final turns too. Will be holding my own until some men rout or something....

Returning to the original post, many of the issues raised are of long-standing (skirmisher "refreshment" among them), but, to me, the greatest lack remains the want of divisional morale. I'll stipulate that the 10-man battalions I've had attacking my foes in the past had little chance of success, but I find implausible the notion that they'd still be hanging about.

Broad demoralization rules a la the "Shako" tabletop system seem in order.

Best,
