I should clarify that the current update of my NRC mod will only work correctly with the current official version of NRC. When the next official patch eventually comes out I will update my update.

The issue that I am most aware of at the moment is that the official patch will use the dragoon designation in the oob. If you use the latest version of the mod on the beta versions of the official patch the dragoon designation will get overwritten (and you don't want that to happen).

So use the latest version of my mod with the current official version, but not with the one that is in development. [That's one of the reasons a slightly older version of my mod is available from the dropbox site]. The old version of my mod works well enough with the beta, and when the beta becomes official I will harmonize my mod with it.

There are three links under each entry. The first is to a box account, the second and third are to dropbox links.



The first link is always the best (and the only choice in the case of the latest Napoleonic mod), the second link is usually a to a version that is identical to the first link and is there because the first link tends to run out of bandwidth halfway through the month.

The third link is to an older version of the mod that some people may want to mine for material.


When the official NRC patch is out I'll also take a look at the 3D figures. There are a few glitches with flags, but I'm not sure if the issues derive from the game or the mod (that part of the mod is Ezjax material, and he was very careful about how he handled things -- what he did with the Russian flags was inspiring).

Great stuff. Installed and really makes a difference visually. Just a pity it can't improve my gameplay

I have temporarily replaced the version of my mod mentioned a few posts above with another version that will not overwrite any of the oob files. So if you want to update with the official patch and get the benefit of 99.5% of my graphics mod, you can.

The first two links listed in the NRC section of the complete list of links to my mods will now give essentially the same result (in other words I've rolled back the mod in the first link to a slightly earlier version).

I intend to add that set of corrections to the existing oob files, as well as take a look at a few 3D infantry units that are showing up with the wrong flags. I don't know as of yet whether I will be replacing flags on the 3D unit bitmaps or making slight adjustments to the oob's. This will take more than a day or two, but it will have to get done quickly because I'm about to experience a dramatic drop in time available for modding.

I had faced an issue like this many years ago when I made my first Eckmuhl mod, and decided at the time not to make any changes to text files. I doubt that there will be any more patches that make changes to NRC oob files, so I'm now taking the position that going forward it will be safe to adjust them for graphics modifications.

Ran into a problem windows 7and 8 could not be down loaded warning came up would not let me down load????

If you're having trouble downloading an HPS patch, wouldn't calling it to their attention directly make more sense than bringing it up here?

What browser are you using Cliff? Is it Internet Explorer? Sometime the files with .exe extension are automatically considered as dangerous even if they are not.
