Glyn,

Ultimately, I hope to cover Rorke's Drift, Isandlwana, Ulundi, Khambula, Hlobane, Ginginhlovo, Nyezane and Ntombe River.

Any topographical maps of any of these would be great to have. I have adequate maps for Isandlwana.

Any Order of Battle giving officer/nco names for units in any of the above battles, or Zulu leaders would be warmly welcomed. I have OOBs for all the above battles, in many cases from more than one source.

Any book title & author that covers the war. I can get about any title through Inter-Library Loan if I know the book exists.

And lastly any b&w pictures of leaders for the Leader bmp file.

So if you have or find any of the above information Glyn, let me know. Anyone else that has access to any of the above information is welcomed to share, as well .

Okay gentlemen.

I have a set of scenarios for Rorke's Drift ready.

This set will replace any previous ones.

The oob has been mapped so that you can play it in your War of 1812 game folder without any need of changing anything.

Once I get the icon/unit bmp files ready, I'll convert this oob over for use with REAL zulu figures, etc. hehehe...

There are seven scnearios. They are:

A review of the Order of Battle for Rorke's Drift scenario.

The historical battle.

The natives stay.

Following orders.

Following orders and the natives stay.

Help is on the way.

Help is on the way, and the natives stay.

In the Following Orders & Help is on the way scenarios another company of Imperial infantry is added. It was supposed to be on guard duty at the drift on the 22nd, but was still at Helpmekaar when the Zulu hit.

In the Natives Stay scenarios, the company of NNC stationed at the mission and the two troops of NNH that had just fled from Isandlwana stay to help defend.

In the combination scenarios both are added.

Zulu strength stays the same in each, around 4,000. British strength fluctuates from 121 to 413.

Drop me a line if you'd like to try it out.

Again, this will play in War of 1812 with no changes needed on your part and the Brits will be wearing shakos and the Zulu will look like American Indians.

Hope you all like it.

... on to Isandlwana!

al

Rorke's Drift set #1 is now available at Rich Hamilton's SDC site. (Thanks Rich! )

This set can be played in War of 1812 with no file modification necessary.

Ground scale is 25ft per hex and time scale is 2 minutes. That means the Martini-Henry can bang out to 96 hexes or so!

The scenarios are long (150+ turns) so players can see if they can hang on through out the night, as historically the defenders did. Remember though that termination bids can be placed if a result is achieved before then, also I place an objective hex so if one side or the other is wiped out the game will end automatically.

The packet contains the historical 137 Brits vs 4,000+ Zulu scenario and 5 other scenarios giving the British addtional troops in various combinations. All which could have occured.

Isandlwana map is 2/3rds done (making maps in a text editor is kind of slow work for me ), oob is ready. That will be a fun battle to fight! heehehe...

BTW, any of you redcoats out there want to see if you can hold on to that mission all night long?

Drop me a line. Any of the 7 scenarios is fine with me.

Incidentally, club points are awarded for playing any of them.

... and if you want, I'll hold the mission and let you play the Zulu in a reversed roles game.

Al:

Lets try it. I was going to slow down my games, but this era is very interesting. I'll get the scenarios, again, to make sure i have the latest. So please crank up a scenario.
