Dear Sirs,

I have a quick question: in any scenarios, are there any units for the British side that are 'mounted infantry'? So far I've only encountered mounted infantry for the colonial side. Thank you for your time gentlemen. I hope everyone has had a good weekend.

Cheers,

There is no mounted infantry in the basic game for the Brits. But here is an example of an oob line that would give you mounted Jagers:

U 70 5 C R 101 0 6 1st Sec. Mtd.

The oob is pretty easy to edit.

Mounted infantry? I think we reserved that for colonial policing later in this century (for John: later in the next century).

Dear Sirs,

Thank you for the help. I just have one more question on this oob stuff. I hate asking so many questions! Anyways, I have almost everything figured out, except what the last two numbers mean in the oob line. Example:

U 70 5 C R 101 0 6 1st Sec. Mtd.

In other words, what does the 0 and the 6 stand for? Thank you so much for your time gentlemen. I really appreciate it.

Cheers,

The last number accesses the units3d100c.bmp and units3d50c.bmp that reside in the map directory. In there, you find the icons that represent the troops in column or battleline.
The top line of icons is 0, so counting down to 6, (actually the 7th line of figures) gives you a row of green coated figures in battleline. There are no column icons in the first few lines as they are all cavalry icons. The column icons for cavalry are in another .bmp file. I do not know what the second last number (0) is for. I have experimented with it, and cannot see that it does or refers to anything. I even took it out completely, and the game still seemed to work fine. There are only a few units in the entire game that have numbers in that position other than zero. My guess is that was part of an original design idea that was abandoned, or that position might be utilized in another game later on if the series continues.
