Militia in 1812 can form Extended Line? I must try that out. I thought only Light rated troops could form EL.
I think that this is an error if it is possible. I dont see how hastily trained militia could use EL.

Rich are you listening? Al Amos? Should the militia in Bladensberg be given Extended Line capability? I think that this should be changed if indeed the militia was as hastily formed as the books say they were. From the sounds of the battle descriptions that I have read they were basically tossed into place. Your comments guys would be helpful in the design decisions.
I was also wondering - is the ground scale different in 1812 than in 1776. I have noted for some time that more troops can stack in a hex in 1812 than in 1776.

Bill,
I'll play you in B'burg with a twist. No American Militia can go into extended order. Single Phase ADF on, Line Disrupt on, no weak ZOCS, rifles off,all quality mods on, and rout limiting off. This can get you closer to historical. I have played this one several times as the American Player and it is ugly for the Brits. If you would like to try the match under my terms, please let me know.

Scott, I would never play Bladensberg with the Single Phase on anymore. ADF ON and MDF ON is the only way it is fair for the British. If you want to play a game I will go for Rout Limiting OFF and Rifles OFF. But honestly with two Bladensberg games going at present couldnt we fight somewhere else. This thread doesnt mean only Blandensberg. It is for any of the 1812 games. That is provided that they are balanced to a certain degree.
