Utah (Eutaw) Beach (Springs): Opponent was Philip Prete of the Hessian Band
It was a tense moment as my Left Flank (1st - 3rd battalians and Marion's Legion) moved off to tackle the British Right composed of Guards and Lights (and a few line companies to boot!) while eyeing the British Left which stood motionless while my militia pumped round after round into them (and a few cannons as well). The first few turns of the assault went well (still eyeing his Left) but sure enough Phil's men started to advance on my now depleted (and mainly Militia) Right Flank (or was it my center?).
With not a moment to spare my Left finished off his Right (with an uppercut or was that a haymaker?) and moved off to help the Center (or was that my Right?) which was fast crumbling (but guns safely away). His cavalry were missing which more than made me feel that they were in my rear somewhere waiting for the right moment to strike.
While my cav dashed to the VP locations in the cow patch (guess that is what the fenced in area is called) my Center and Left held firm and delivered some withering fire on his units. Some ran like wild guess (which is what my militia had been doing all game by the way) and so I followed up.
This to say of Phil - his timing was off a bit and if he had advanced sooner my goose would have been in his oven! Look out for this officers, Colonials - a new challenger for us and he does very fast files too! In a few games he will be cooking our geese (note my correct use of the tense) on a regular basis.

Camden Yards (just Camden_A really) vs. Ernie "Beach" Sands
Ernie absolutely insisted on playing this scenario and I guarentee that as long as there is a sun in the sky it will be the last time he plays it for some time (Winter IS coming Ernie).
As usual the American militia ran all over the place. As usual Ernie launched a tough assault but there were just too many Yanks the held and after a long fight (we played with ADF OFF - six files per turn GAG it took a LONG time to finish this 18 turn game!) the Clownials (thinking of Poli here) prevalied.
Meanwhile, to the south the sound of "Play Ball" could be heard from the Orioles stadium! ... Ok - different Camden I know, but once a "Birds" fan always a "Birds" fan (unless the Angels are in town).

As usual Mr. Sands was the perfect gentleman. We are now engaged at Lundy's Bane (Lane) and he gets to win this time (sort of like how the British had to wear red and march in columns and all that).

Almost forgot to say - in the Utah Springs game Phil's cavalry did show up in my rear but just long enough to travel back to safety into his own lines, er and then fall prey to my cavalry! Phil's cav earns the "Paul Revere Mileage Award" for traversing the entire field of combat!
