Colonial Campaigns Club (CCC)

Gentlemen and Phil Natta,

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I am stuck at home for the next few days and am already bored to tears. Not only am I new to this club, but I am also new to the style of warfare portrayed in 1776 and 1812. My opponents will gleefully attest to this. Do you good folks know of any online sites I could visit to study tactics?

Jon there are much more knowledgeable historians in the club than me, and I'm sure a few will point out some great sites. But a knowledge of historical tactics will only get you so far in club games. The games are realistic enough for me, but I don't know know that you'd be able to play them better by studying the era's tactics. But I read anything on linear warfare just out of interest anyway.

At the club's home you will find a links 'link' that leads to many good sites about what you seek.

With this engine you can play checkers, WWII or do whatever the engine allows. Also, with a bit of self-discipline you can engage in a very enjoyable simulation of linear warfare.

I agree with Al. Check out the tactical hints linked off the club page. Phil and Rich do a pretty good job of providing pointers.

WOW! Excellent. The plates are great! The diagrams show the evolution of current manual of arms and the loading and firing positions is also very informative.

A keeper, for sure.
