Estonko,
I'm looking for an online match with a scenario that can be completed in one sitting. 1776,1812 or FIW. I am in time zone GMT-6

Scott,

I believe I am also in time zone GMT-6 (the Central U.S. time zone?). I wouldn't mind playing on Sunday around noon. How about Cowpens? That should easily be able to be played in one sitting. Send me an e-mail with the details. For those of you who haven't tried this, by all means go for it. The last few times I've played this way have been a lot of fun, especially when time limits are placed on each turn.

(1776- Cowpens, Guilford Courthouse and Monmouth )( 1812-Lundy's Lane, Chipawa, Fort Erie and Sacketts Harbor) (FIW- Jumonville, Monongehela, Fort Beasejour (sp)and Ft Ticonderoga -d)

Some others that seem appropriate.

Online is an excellent and very fun way to play.

Remember to drop your FIREWALLS, before you try it.

Dierk,

How does that work? Can both players from the same side move at the same time, or does one player make his moves and then pass it on to his teammate?

It's fully integrated. Both (actually all) players can absolutely move at the same time--the forces are assigned in an organization screen and nobody can touch the other players' forces. [8D]

The only thing you shouldn't try is to combine forces from different players for a melee ... Glyn Hargreaves and I once did that, and while the game didn't crash (!) the entire attacking force, 80 infantry, just vanished, while the 10 Injuns that had lost the melee not only continued to sit there for the rest of the scenario, but started to duplicate each of the following turns. [:p]

FIW has an On-Line series included as well. What if scenarios small enough to be played in two hours or so.

A couple of them pit Indians vs. Indians only.

Al,
As a matter of fact Brett and I have selected the FIW online series for our first match. If anyone is interested in future matches, drop me an email and I will act as facilitator to set up some 2v2 games

Done in by my own kind..Just finisned the FIW Online Series_A and the French and their Mohawk allies chased the British rather unceremoniously out of Ft. Nowhere. Nicely done Brett, and on to game "B"

Good to hear Scott. Do me a favor? After going through as many as you guys are going to play in that series would you drop me a line with comments and critques. I want to develop more games suitable for on-line, head-to-head gaming, and find out how well/if my first attempts were accepted. Thanks. [;)]

Thanks Scott. Online_a seems weighted a little towards the French, so I definitely don't want to take too much credit. Al, I'll write down my impressions of each as Scott and I play them (we'll be playing every online series scenario over the next few weeks (months?). This was one of the first FIW scenarios I've played against a human, and I must say that those Indians pack quite a punch!
