There is a very large re-enactment of Monmouth this weekend in New Jersey if any of you are within driving distance.

Were you able to make it there Larry? I walked through the 64th street to see if I could locate you, I didn't see you! [:(!]

All in all, it was an OK event. (IMO anyway) On the 28th we the colors ceremony on a huge hill. Holding at Present Firelocks for nearly 20 minutes. I thought my arms would fall off. After that, The RWF and a Colonial unit (I'm not sure which) paraded at the visitors for a wreath laying. I found it amusing that the scheduled speakers did not want come out with their suits on because it was too hot for them! This was at noon and we just waited there.
The battle was at 4:00pm. My musket refused to fire this day. Boy, I wanted to chuck it in the closest river. Something did surprise me though, the last American volley did not make the popcorn sounds (like they usually do!! hehe [;)]). At least 400 shots discharged at the same time. I've never heard anything like that. 75% of the Crown forces dropped instantly.
The 29th was basically the same except the colors ceremony was shorter.
