Here’s a quick update on our Annie Rose. She’ll turn 1 on the 25th of this month, thank GOD. We nearly lost her this past month but my Christmas wish has been granted.

She has irritable bowel. This affects her digestive system and she’ll have to watch what she eats later in life (no pop, or chocolate.) [:(] A Gastro-Enterologist had started treating her for her symptoms, and had stopped looking for the cause. He had placed her on medicines that had side effects of constipation and loss of appetite. She literally was starving to death on us, and we didn’t know it. Lori and I knew something was wrong but not sure what it was.

Finally, after a two month delay due to a paper work snafu [:(!], she was able to been seen by a Pediatrics Specialist. He hospitalized her immediately. He took her off all meds and altered her diet from the very specialized formula the other doctor had her on to just the basic formula and baby food vegetables with butter! He’s trying to fatten her up. [:)] He told us later that he did not give her even a 50-50 chance of surviving another week when he first saw her.

That was two weeks ago. Now she is healthy and picking up weight. She’s jabbering, and scooting about and playing all the time. Things she just didn't have the energy to do before. [:D]

Lori and I wish to thank you all again for your prayers and moral support.

GOD is very good. Try HIM you’ll like HIM. [;)]

Al - I knew something was up as I hadnt seen a post from you for some time. Very glad to hear about Annie Rose and the good news. While she will have a different life than most of us she is still with us! I hope that her condition can eventually be cured and she can eat normally.

"She’s jabbering, and scooting about ... "

Just like daddy! [:D]

Beat you to that one Ernie!

Good to see you back! Hope that you and your family remain in good health.

Very Happy to hear your news [:D] As some one who suffers from both irritable bowel syndrome, and incompetent medicos. Who seem determined to make my stomach problems terminal.
I can only imagine how much worse it must be for you and your wife. My problems are probably self inflicted bad diet and two many nights spent working or playing when I should have been sleeping. My brother however who was very sick until he was about 8 has no real problems now. So these things can get much better.I don't count on it in my case but the surgeons have promised to have a go at fixing the what ever they did wrong last time when they get back from their holidays[:)]
