The general (and his geese) walk in and immediately notice the furniture has been moved aside .... having seen this many times before he removes his Red coat (not wanting his colonial brethren to mistake him for a lobsterback)

"Ok ... which one of the Brits started this one!!!!" ... and do you boys need any help from the Irish ... we've been boot'n with the <u>queen's</u> (hehehehe) wigged ones for what seems like centuries"

"And if it's fisticuffs you are looking for .... be careful! .... they don't fight fair ..... I have seen them blow their "sneezing powder" into unsuspecting faces before they attack"

-------------------- <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_clown.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_clown.gif border=0 align=middle> ---------------

all joking aside this is some of the best "banter" in months ... and thoroughly enjoyable I might add.

"Howdy Gen'r'l come on in! You're just in time, sir."

"When I heard all that honkin' I wasn't sure if you were about with your geese or if it was General Coffey blowing 'is nose!"

"I believe you'll find him under one of these here tables, sir, if you'd care to pluck him out from under there. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>"

"Now some one hand me that chair...."

Well, what's that, General Cope, the evil Rebel chief himself! Sir, my compliments, I have been meaning to invite you to a fight for some while! ... Admittedly, I was thinking about a field and 10,000 regulars, but now a barroom brawl will have to do. Grab a beerglass, and come forward, Sir! <img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle>

Looks up in confusion at the sudden fracas that surrounds him, idly noting a half-filled spittoon bouncing off of Natty Phil's wig, landing on the ground and brown liquid flowing from it onto the floor...

"Hmm... these lobsters, can't take em anywhere.. like children they are. Though, this Walter guy isn't all bad, he spends as much time duelling with his own as he does fighting us..."

**pulls out a sheaf of maps** hmm.... decisions, decisions... Chippewa B... New Orleans... Thames A... which one should it be, and who to "dance" with

Sir Walter! ... I would Never do that to a good beer glass ... unless, of course, we were out of beer! <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

"Sergeant O'Malley!!! ... hand me your bludgeon" ....WHAP!! .. as he strikes it into his open hand to get the feel ..

"oh, and by the way, Mingo the High-headed one is the only CHIEF we got on our side ... I think <img src=icon_smile_blush.gif border=0 align=middle> ... with all deference to our fearless leader Col. O'Connor"

W H A P !!! .... the General eyes the room wearily gauging the distance to the nearest red fox. <img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle>

Mingoe "High Head" Rodes strides into the room as a thrown chair crashes into the wall beside him. A cloud of wig powder, spewed beverage and dust obscures his vision to the point of not being able to make out friend or foe...."Oh what the hell"...he wades into the maelstrom..."Now which one of you Brits needs a haircut"

"Gentlemen!! Gentlemen!!"

"May I have your attention please!"

The room grows quiet as heads turn to the voice. Suddenly a THUD as Mingoe releases his grip on Lt. Col. Reuter who drops to the floor.

"Thank you, follow this link http://www.geocities.com/albert_amos/18 ... fight.html to get your game files for this impromptu little bar room brawl. Then grab a partner, e-mail me with your pairings, and I will post them on the page. As battles are done send me the results and I will post those, too!"

"Okay, one more thing," Lt. Col. Amos gingerly makes his way to the bar and grabs a whiskey bottle then retraces his steps to the Colonial side of the Tavern.

"Okay, as you were."

Whith that fists fly, curses uttered, a good time for all begins anew!

(The screech of shoved tables and chairs continues as the more inebriated of the Yankees struggle to their feet and start swinging wildly at dead air, stumbling hither and yon in search of anything to strike. Everyone is poised for action as red coats gather to one side, blue coats to the other. Suddenly a voice of reason in the personage of Natty Phil is heard above the din)

Gentlemen of His Majesty's army and rebel scum! Though we didn't begin this mob action, we most certainly will end it with the same outcome as our battles. You vulgar traitors on your knees and elbows knocked cold, arse up in the air with silly grins on your sunburned faces, with King George's men hovering over you in fine and fit form bowing to defeated foes yet again. Tis a pity I'm forbidden to unleash my epee (a fencing weapon to you heathens) and calmly and methodically snip the buttons from your filthy vests and ragged trousers, to the snickering of the barmaids. But aye, I'm also well schooled in fisticuffs, though I do so detest scraping my knuckels raw against your unshaven mugs. At least I won't cut myself on your teeth as there are scarcely any left in your heads!

So while I take my boxing stance, (knees deeply bent, elbows high, fists curled and rapidly churning) let any among you speak up before I lay a mighty blow to Mr. Amos's overindulged belly and weak jawbone! Mr. Cope, I mean Mother Goose, you're just too old to beat upon so sit down and read us a fable. Get in line Mr. McClellan, and please pull up Master Hopper's diaper which now appears to be sagging badly in the rear...you two I'll take together. Chief Mingoe, if you even look at my wig with brazen desire in your eyes, you'll be next. God save the King!

Off in the corner a quiet man finishes scribbling furiously and polishes off the last dram from a bottle of Islay. He raises an eyebrow questioningly.

"Eh? What's this? I may be a bit deaf from the cannon that day on Hobkirk Hill (Did I ever tell you about the time I met the young Sgt. Natta...). But this is getting out of control" he says as he wings a bottle at the Nappy Headed Sir Natta.

"Mingoe, Imbachi Hattak has your back" he shouts as he makes a diving tackle on his old nemesis, Lt. Hargreaves who was preparing to clock poor Mingoe.

"Luckily, I have just ordered up a fresh uniform from Philadelphia" he mutters as they roll off in a cloud of swinging limbs.

O'Leary do you want a chance for revenge from the 2001 tourney? Mr: Reuter you are 0-2 against my militia boys. DW - we are already engaged, another? Somebody else?

"wooo wooo woo!" in his best three stooges voice.

"look out he may have finally gone over the edge."

Ensign Hopper lands hard to the floor after being tripped by that sour Kraut Trog. He spies Lt. Col. Amos laying there. The Lt. Col. speaks to him, "Ensign now don't go expecting this kind of party everytime you get a promotion!"

*With Gen Cope's bludgeon in hand and Sir Natta's wig askew on his head, Mingoe stealthily stalks what surely must be Tecumseh himself..just as he is about to strike a blow. Lt Col Amos interjects.."uh Chief..I don't think you can hurt that "Woodin' Injun" with that thing"...Like a freshly hewn oak tree. Mingoe crashes to the floor.....Lt Col Amos leans down.."Mingoe? are you okay?". Barely audible, Mingoe replys..."God...shave...the..King"*.
