With a sad glance at the book he had left on his isolated corner table, Ens. McClellan turns

"Lt Col Amos, I've never been in one of these things... just how are we supposed to act in a bar fight?"

With that, the wet behind the years Ensign slips on a puddle of spilled ice tea, and proceeds to then fall into one of the few remaining tables, which then slams into Col. Walter's back, forcing him to lurch forward bumping into Lt. O'Leary, who loses his balance, and while he windmills his arms he hits Gen. Natta's wig which flies through the air and coldcocks Ernie Sands....

The prone Ens. McClellan looks up, seeing the horde of stunned bodies and asks..

"wha happened?"

"Ensign McClellan, don't worry the Good Book doesn't mind these kind of fights. This is more like Marx Brothers fighting. Seems to me that you got the hang of it!"

"Mingoe, I, Nakishnana, cannot believe I heard you correctly. To paraphrase on of their future statesmen ' ... never surrender ... ' I bet I can get the blue one from him before you!"

Colonel Sands is temporarily befuddled by my displaced wig, now draped over his face, but gamely throws punches in Mr. Cox's last known direction anyway. One especially hearty swing sends the wig BACK onto my head where it looks as if it never had been disturbed. Now THAT'S superior British training! Even my wig can do an about face and march (or fly) in perfect drill order!

Unfortuneately, I cannot continue this brawl! I lost my wig; got doused with powder; then started laughing at Sir Natta in his tights. Sorry!<img src=icon_smile_shy.gif border=0 align=middle>

These Colonials and their beer and rum will be our downfall! Open another hogshead of rum and we can swill some more before resuming the fisticuffs. If the Marques of Queensbury rules haven't been invented, yet, we shall use them anyway.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

We could use pistols, but I have NO IDEA where Sir Natta could hide them!<img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle>

We are prepared to defend our Liege Lord, the King, in any affair, be it a tavern crawl (or brawl) or on the field of battle. Come one, come all.

"The general (and his geese) walk in and immediately notice the furniture has been moved aside .... having seen this many times before he removes his Red coat (not wanting his colonial brethren to mistake him for a lobsterback)" Gen Cope must have had too much. He thinks his geese have followed him to the tavern; what a laugh. Well, let's carve up these geese and have roasted goose with our brew.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

<font size=4>"MORGAN HAS ARRIVED!!!" bellows serveral men clad in woodland garb and smelling like they havent bathed in years. "Time to knock heads!"Grabbing two Red Lobster privates a burly Rifleman bashes their skulls together."JUST LIKE BACK IN THE WOODS MEN!"
"Phew," says Major Cox, "Morgan forgot to bathe his men again before our yearly parade march!" "So what else is new?" chimes in Amos!</font id=size4>

(The bar room slowly calms down as last remaining combatants throw their punches in the general direction of their opponents missing by a country mile. The comely and buxom Patriot barmaid emerges to see Ensign Hopper laying on the floor, semi-conscious, smile on his face, holding on to what appears to be a piece of some red garment with some gold. Several Redcoated ones lie unconcious nearby. She peers closer and it is indeed a fragment of some British uniform taken as the "Gentleman" went flying through the air from one of the Ensign's mighty blows. Who's apparel it was is difficult to say in all the confusion, but it was noticed that Col Natta's suit of clothes was indeed missing a patch that was similar in shape. The missing patch revealed that Sir Phil was wearing frilly undergarments that are simply to disgusting to describe. The bar maid coos with delight over her battered hero. She bends over and presses her ample charms into the new Ensign's face. The smile on the new Ensign's face grows even bigger as he speaks.)

"Now that is what we are fighting for! What a hellava fight!"

Thanks lads for the back up, now lets go whip some of that lacky butt! I got Col Walter! That picture of Sir Phil was priceless. Col Al, you're the man! Sir Phil of Natty Wig, your turn will come soon enough I assure you! You can then pull your epee out, but I would suggest your best pair of running shoes be on hand, as you will need them to escape the beating you will recieve. Be sure to hold on to that wig as you run. My lads have been talking about needing a new target for practice with our "Hunting Shirts and Rifles." It would make such a lovely target indeed!

Hurrah for the Continental Congress and the BUXOM BAR MAID!

Gen. Coffey,
what a chaos here. I'm not longer wondering why I cannot find these Rabbits on the battlefield.
Shall I call for my men to clear this room?<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

"Well look what crawled in! Or is that, crawled back in?"

"Mingoe, Morgan! I think these two were last seen running out the back door a few minutes ago!"

"Col. Reuter you bring all the men you want. We will put them on cleaning details once we're done with this affair, but...,' Lt. Col. Amos catches Lt. Col. Reuter's leg with a foot and flips him high in the air, "...my dear sir, we ain't done yet!"

With that the Lt. Col. lunges at the giggling Maj. Gen. Coffey who is bent over his beer, chanting like a school girl, "I got it! I got it! You can't catch me! I got it! I...hmmppph!"

He got it alright! <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

As an aside, judging from this thread it seems just <b>everybody</b> in both armies is a Lt.Col. at the moment. We should open a club instead of breaking each other's collarbones. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

(The battered, but much satisfied new Ensign looks on with bemusement at the bewildering apparition in the funny suit that is rapidly withdrawing from his presence shouting incoherently about a medal)

"My God, has that So Called King of the Britians emptied the lunatic asylum again?! Certainly that can't be a General Officer. By the way, my apologies to you, Gen Natta. In my drunken and bellicose state, (a loud and satisfied belly rumbling belch is heard)I failed to recognize your exalted rank. You see, it is an unusal experience for me to see one resplendent in all his glory. The only time I normally see a British General is when my lads capture them. It has been my experience that when we capture them, they have previously shed their outter garments to go running about in their long handles trying to avoid detection as a soldier of the King. I am therefore more familiar with the General in a manner like that excellent portrait that was hanging in his parlor. You know, the one Col Amos got hold of. Hence my understandable error. A thousand pardons to you, General Natta.

(Nods of agreement from the gathered heros of America)

"Now, General Coffey, if you can't act in a more humble manner in the presence of real men, I shall administer yet another thrashing on you or at least lock you away again! Col Amos, leave some for me!"

(With that, the Ensign rejoins the fray)
