On a cold and snowy morning Morgan's Rifles slipped quietly through the forest. The British were celebrating having captured a small supply dump near a villiage and were putting on the hen and pig to help light up the festivities. Not a sound could be heard from Morgan's Men as they had put cloth around any metalitic items in their kit. All went according to plan and as the Redcoats finished cooking the sumptious meal Morgan (that's me) gave the order to attack.
Surprise was complete! The Redcoats were not at all happy to be heared out into the cold (what with just jammies on) and soon took on a bluish appearance until they were put into a storeroom.
One of the Lobsters asked for his Teddy whereby one of the riflemen collared a bear and pushed it into the room! That ended any requests for stuffed animals!
Later at the fire Morgan turned to his trusted ADC and said, "If only Sam Orlando had no defected. What wonderful delicacies he could be enjoying with us! Ah, the days when Gen. Orlando and I routed the British at Brandywine. And how we would have rifle contests in the Spring. Now he has defected to other side!"
"A toast to the health of Gen. Sam. Long may he live - despite his new boss the King!"
Long wails of laughter accompanied by groanings from the temporary stockade could be heared well into the night.
Just another evening with Morgan!

Maj. Bill Peters, Morgan's Rifles, American Army
Commander of French Dept.

Sir Ernie, let me know if that bear gives you any problems. It is only supposed to be wrestling with you guys but if it gets too difficult with you I can always chain it up!Nice bear!
Which reminds me of a dearly departed friend who went backpacking with me one time (for his first and last time). We were in the tent one night and to my surprise he had brought a Stun Gun and Pepper Spray! No Ernie, these are not punk rock groups! Anyway, we had an animal (bear?) come into the camp and as it was pitch dark we still dont know if it was a bear. Anyway my friend pulled out the Pepper Spray and I was ready to head out of the tent if he used it!
I am sure glad it only turned out to be Sean Coffey looking for a midnight snack!
