I am heading to the far West - Cincinati, for a few days of work. If anyone is going to the Cinci International Wine Fest, I will be working. (Drop me a line and I'll let you know which booth.)

Following that, I am heading to Uhrichsville and am looking for restaurant tips.

Also any thing to see along the way from Cinci to Dayton?

Thanks in advance,

I highly suggest you take a peek at the Dayton Bomber's hockey team. Execellent team ;)Good at scoring and... fighting! If you watch hockey that is.

Mike,

Stop by Tulsa, pick me up and I'll take you on a whirlwind tour of Cincy! Love that town.

On the west side of I-75 is the train station, it in the valley about 1/2 mile from the river ... you got to see it. Shaped like an Old Time Radio. Inside you the accoustics are so great you can whisper to people on the other side of the arch and hear each other quite well!

Cincy has a good fireman's museum, too.

Cincy hosts one of the best Zoos in the country featuring White Tigers.

Eat some Skyline Chili while you are there Its fantastic...coneys, 3-ways, 4-ways ...hmmmmm...

King Island amusement park is to the north east about an hour up I-70 towards Columbus. Not too far out of the way.

On the south side of Dayton is one of the best game shops I've ever been to (if its still there.) Can't remember the name :( check the yellow pages, it is worth the visit.

Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton has a world class air museum.

Hit the Cincy riverfront. Germans immagrating to our country settled the region because the Ohio River reminded them of the Rhine, and oh how beautiful it is!

Since you're going ot the wine fest, you won't be too far from Mt. Lookout ... there you will find "The Boardwalk" ... my wargiming hangout when I was in junior-high and high school. Top notch wargame shop!

Graeter's ice-cream is a must! They and Skyline will probably have booths at the fest, too.

Just a drive along Riverside Ave, or Columbia Pkwy will enable you to see the river and the Kentucky side.

Ahhhh.... I'm homesick now :)

Enjoy!

Thanks for the tips guys.

I went last year and the museums were very cool (a whole exhibit on Napoleon in Egypt was travelling through.) The Cincinnati history museum was excellent too. Learned all about the Germans and their Across the Rhine neighborhood, complete with the Musikhalle. I thinkthe train station is where there are 3 or four museums.

I have a dinner in Covington and will see the waterfront from the KY side.

Had a great time last year and look forward to this one as well (don't know about the hockey though - I'm just a California boy<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Thanks again,

Mike

Then I'll have to drive the 3 1/2 hours to see there and show you hockey is the greatest game on earth!

Just thought I'd check in the old stopping grounds.
Mmmm .... let's see .... the only thing I remember between Cincy and Dayton is the Copperhead farmer that flies the stars & bars( on the right side of I-75 about 45 minutes North of Cincy).

Still job hunting .... maybe I'll come back for a game to break the monotony. I could use a good 1812 action.
