With winter nearing its end, the 1812 - R Department is getting ready for war.

I have challenged my men to go out this year and earn all 11 battlefield medals the club awards for the War of 1812, and the 1812 campaign ribbon, too.

So you redcoated fellows out there, be so kind to challenge my boys directly. I'm sure they'll be more than happy to hand you back your surrendered sword <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>.

Quick question on medals and ribbons. Are they earned when playing an opponent from your own side?

Unfortunately, no. You see, while President Madison appreciates it that your boys are rehearsing for war, he will only reward them for actually winning battles. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
