 Post subject: Submap for 1776?

Can you create submaps in 1776 like you can with 1812 and the Napoleon games?

I've tried to do it using the instructions for the other games, but have not been successful.

Yes you can. I did a submap from Monmouth.map for my entry to the SDC, so I know it can be done.

Andy, here is an example of one I have made for 1776. I use TextPad. WordPad will work as well, but more advanced text editors may try to put a bunch of weird formatting in that could screw things up.

BTW, for 1776 you need to have upgraded to v1.03 for it to work.

One problem I had that Al helped me with (heh, thanks again Al!) is that I did it within Notepad, and it appended a .txt to the end of the file. Make sure that your map file doesn't isn't mapname.map.txt also

That means better used the most simple text editor you can get (there comes one with Windows) and select "all files" before you save.

That was my problem. I renamed the file to remove the txt suffix and my map appeared. Thanks.
