I will be visiting Valley Forge (my one battlefield on this vacation) next week on Wednesday or Thursday. I have not been there, before. If anyone has some pointers on the site, it would be helpful

I plan on some pictures and hope to put something together from my excursions last year at Ticonderoga, Crown Point, and Saratoga with Valley Forge and some local pictures of Concord/Lexington.

I liked the Valley Forge site. Paoli is nearby as well, and is pretty much intact as the owners have resisted development and kept it as farmland. I have not seen it, so there might also be no visitor/information center. Brandywine and Germantown are not far either. Germantown is built up, but the Chew House has tours. Brandywine has a visitor center at the site of Washington's HQ during the battle. Of course Philadephia has alot to see. Just driving through the area is interesting. It is a very hilly area, and geographical features definitely played a part in the battles, more than can be realised playing a game or reading about it. There is a re-enactment scheduled for the 21-22 at Brandywine. This is the 225th anniversary, so there may be a good turnout. Have fun, it is a great area to visit. If you have time check out Liberty Hall, where the Continental Congresses met in Philadelphia and the Constitution and Declaration of Independence were signed.

Thanks.

Usually, I can squeeze only one or 2 battlefields on a trip! Last year, I was able to hit several.[:D]
I saw that Brandywine was close and I might be able to get it in.

At this time, I do not plan on touring Philadelphia, but you never know.

The first part of my vacation is very open, but do plan on going to Shanksville, PA on Friday of next week. I am going to be too close to pass it by.
