I did not realize how advanced the Brits were in this war, I did not know they were able to make their weapons invisable. I am currently in battle with Mr. Cox, but I realized that i can not see some of my own weapons (talk about the fog of war!) the battle is One Lucky Shot(historical)is this just a flaw with me or do we need a patch for it?[?] Otherwise this game is a beauty![8D]

And another question/observsation:

Guns can move and fire in the same turn. Change or oversight?

Looks great so far!!

The guns changing and firing are EMPLACED ARTILLERY. Normal feild guns will not be able to do this.

Emplaced Artillery does not perform ADF. (Same for Ships) When you consider the cramped quaters on walls and from entrenchments you can see a slower rate of fire for these guns, nicely represented by no ADF. Also, these pieces had less ammo, were more fragile if fired too much, etc. etc.

Emplaced Artillery does not use ammo, but you need 1 round of ammo to be able fire them. (Same for Ships)

Emplaced Artillery will lose automatically in melee if alone. (Same for Ships) This is why you will find 'gun guards' in my scenarios.

Emplaced Artillery has no Victory Point value. (Same for Ships) The hexes they are deployed in are usually Objective Hexes. This gives the defender (usually hiding in forts) a reason to sortie out and trash the attacker's entrenchments.

Emplaced Artillery can change facing and fire. (Same for Ships)
----
In my scenarios you will find an extensive use of Emplaced Artillery. For the French at one point early in the war the only field carriages in North America were the ones captured after Braddock's Defeat. This total was 10 or 12.

Mortars and howitzers were carried in wagons and took a bit of time to assemble (IMO, too long for our games.) This is why I have made them immobile.

Bateaux were used to transport guns to forts or to seige lines where they were placed on small, naval-like carriages.
----
Hope this helps.

Jack,

When it comes to speaking about game problems, please speak in our English. I honestly do not know what you mean. You are seeing something in purple-pink?

Sorry, Al. Scott is correct (thanks for the interpretation); I am underwhelmed by the choice of color for French units in FIW.

Okay, thanks. I love the brogue in all your other posts. Please keep talkin' that way. [:D]

There were only a few regiments of French in North America not many choices for facing colors.

They all look okay to me, but then I have a rose-colored monitor. hehehe....
