Just managed to get a copy of War of 1812 on E-Bay and while I impatiently wait for it to arrive I am trying to decide which army to enlist with. Any sales pitches out there? [:D]

Sir, there is but one side, The side of freedom and Liberty. Join the Americans and help forge a new nation, a nation under God, a nation that will stand for liberty. If you side with the Brits, then you'll be fighting for a fat, ugly, German upstart. Fighting for a nation that has abused the fine Celts of Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. They hire German Mercs. The Indians well, we have some allies there but there are many that side with the Red coats. As for our French allies, well thats hard to say. Follow the red White and Blue. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Well, Mark, what do you prefer - loyalty or treason? [:p]

(And I am not even mentioning decent clothes, arms, shoes, rations and you name it ...)

Fear the King and pay your taxes! [}:)]

Mark,

If you join one of the three following armies ... French, Indian or British ... then I will have a newbie to earn my Major General's stars from. [;)][:p][:D] hehehe....

If you wish to pick the best army then ... GO USA!!!! [:D]

Halito Mark,

Go Native...it's the only way to go! We are an active, tight nit group and have an abundance of opponents to choose from.

Well, let me give you another good reason for joining the side of loyalty, justice, progress, sportsmanship, and corned beef. For some reason, most guys wearing blue in the other club end up wearing red here ... while the guys wearing rags over there usually also wear rags in this club. So, there you go ... if you want a decent uniform, never mind the colour, come on in on our side. [:D]

Mark,

I'm not going to try to sell the French side. My plea is from a fellow Illini. Join the French Army and you'll guarantee Charlie Villenueva joins the Illini for a "one and done" year and a National Title. If you don't, he's probably going to the NBA! [:D]

Well, Mark, Seeing that you are fighting to put down the rebellion in the ACWGC, it would only seem to make sense to do so in this club too. At least it made sense to me [:)] The Hessians have some more room for good fighting men like yourself (and the king doesn't pay all that bad either).

Loyalty....an honorable virtue. Come join the Provincial forces of the British army and save your self-respect[8D]Any greedy, self serving truant can join the Americans, but the truly noble and loyal join the Loyalists.

Clearly the USA should be your first choice. If I recall, your <i>cousin</i> fights in red in the NWC, so Blue would only be fitting (and it is the same color your descendant will wear in the 1860's).

In 1812 as an American, you:

have the opportunity to invade Canada, burning their tariff houses to the ground

don't have to worry about being shipped to Portugal or Spain

get to have a post-war party in New Orleans

will never have your loin cloth "ride up"

will only need minimal French (should your travels take you to Quebec): "<i>sortez! maintenant!"</i>

will have access to plenty of Militia (at least until a rumoured patch)

Hoping to see you in Philly,

Mark, two words why you should join the Indian Alliance: puppy soup. The other armies just don't know how to feed themselves properly. [:D]

Well my War of 1812 CD has arrived. Mr. Malone said if that I joined the British forces that I would be fighting for a fat, ugly, German upstart. Well many people consider me a fat, ugly, upstart of German heritage so I have sent in my enlistment papers for the British Army. And besides, who am I am to deny Al his Major General's stars. [:D]
