Sirs, I have just returned from my son’s basic training Graduation. It was a great site to see all those young people complete what many thought they could not do when they first started. I was a Drill Sergeant for 3 years and saw it many a time. I also liked my son with no hair hee hee hee [}:)][;)][:D] Many a proud parent, spouse, or relative was there, standing room only A good trip. Any way I am back and ready to pick up where I left off.

I was a Drill Instructor at Parris Island for a few years in the early 1970's. Graduation was always a good day for the recruits and the families.

That was a very much different time (early 1970's) and attitude, but the sentiment was the same.

Good luck to your son.

Thanks Ernie, Yes indeed it is a differnt time, from your day to my day and now theirs. I Salute you on your past service. While I talk the stuff about Marines and all, since I am in the Army, I do have a great respect for them and those that trained them. I respect all who have served, are serving and those that support those. Being Combat Arms I do have a little biast though [;)] to Grunts every where, but I know it takes much to keep the Grunts in the field. Like everything it is a team effort. Like our battles here in the club, it goes so much better when we have a good combined arms attack [}:)][;)][B)]
