Would it be useful to have different levels of disruption (like fatigue) rather than just the straightforward disordered / not disordered?

If there were several levels of disruption a unit's capability would deteriorate gradually as it becomes increasingly disrupted, although there should be the option of remaining stationary but expending movement points and leader movement/rally points to attempt to decrease disruption. Perhaps the best method of reflecting different levels of disruption would be to gradually reduce combat effectiveness and movement allowance, first perhaps to 75%, then 66%, 50%, 40% and finally 25% -at this point the unit would be too disordered to operate effectively and would need to spend time just resting and reorganizing to prevent disintegration. I suppose fatigue covers this to a certain extent, but for some reason the movement allowance of a highly fatigued unit remains normal, provided it isn't also disrupted.

Rich,

What you suggest would require a bit of recoding, however I see a possible easy tweak that may be useful to us.

It would be nice if John would add movement penalties to medium and high fatigue, similar combat modifiers -10%, -20% and -40% for max fatigue. This tweak would decrease the usefulness and increase the vulneralbility of heavily fatigued units. Players would be encouraged to rest units more and rotate battle lines, reserves, etc.

Al,

Your suggestion sounds good - fatigue is similar to the sort of "disruption" I had in mind anyway and this would produce the same sort of result.

A great Idea Al! I have always thought the battles tend to move a little too fast. And Fatigue should impact move as you say!

Maybe one day...[:)]
