KSt. beats OU 35-7 in front of God and country tonite on ABC. Who will be #1 now? LSU? USC? Go Trojans! I personally dont think that they could beat LSU but I am not so sure that they couldnt beat OU.

Bill,

Speaking of crying, Gator fans have been crying a river this last week. You see in the infinitely small brain of the gator fan the entire world is against them. A vast right wing conspiracy. Thus when the destroy their opponents field in an ugly riot they are justified.

Can you tell I have no use for gators? [:D]

Ok, when this thing finally works out OU will probably stilll play for the title game. In years past their title shot would have been over but now, when you can make numbers say anything, they will be right back up there. Who knows maybe they deserve it? More so than USC thats for sure. The pac10 is the biggest joke in all of college football. [:p]

That should start the fur to flyin' [:D]

Mike - I have to laugh after watching USC get picked by BOTH polls to be #1 but come out #3. Go figure.

And .. I remember one year that they said the Pac 10 was the biggest joke - wouldnt let UCLA go to the title game and instead what happened? Six of seven Pac 10 teams won their bowls. It went like this:

Arizona creamed a Big 10 team.
UCLA killed their opponent.
Oregon walked all over the wimpy opponent from the SEC.
Washington danced all over a team from the Big 12.

And so on.

So they can say all they want about the Pac 10. I still consider them right up there with the SEC, Big 10, Big 12 and so on.

I think that Pete Carroll said it best a few minutes ago. His team is considered #1 by the coaches and the writers. After USC wins over Michigan perhaps the polls will remain the same anyway.

But it really doesnt make enough trouble for us to worry over when there are other things in life that matter more.

Like knowing that Al's daughter is alive and well and eating! That is #1 with me.

Bill,

I agree with the line about Al's daughter. Speaking of which, how is she doing Al?

I am not sure who is behind it - The World Bank, Mormons, Bohemian Club, Federal Reserve, The British, a vast Right Wing Conspiracy, the Liberal Media, or just the Free Masons - but the Pac 10 gets slighted again.

Never thought I would feel bad for a Trojan, but it happened.

Maybe Mike, but my Alma Mater (Pitt) is looking to have a good team next year, but will have no shot at a good ranking because their conference, the Big East, is getting gutted to prop-up the ACC. So I guess I need a crying towel too.

Mike,

As an FSU fan and now of course ACC fan I was a bit shocked to see the ACC go so hard after several of the Big East teams but leave Pittsburgh alone. I mentioned this to my brother who lives in Tallahassee and he said that Pitt was contacted but said they weren't interested. Any idea why?

I know changes sometimes are a bit scary but this one seemeded to benefit all involved save for the Big East. Honestly though I think the Big East was on its way down anyway. Any chance Pitt might opt for another conference?

Larry Fitzgerald gets my vote for Heisman, that kid has got major skills :-) I'd put Eli Manning a close second. Just my twwo cents worth :-)

Soon Spurrier will be washed up at Washington and will return to glory at Florida...

Who needs the overpaid crybabies in the NFL, the NCAA is great every year![8D]

Now if we can just get some playoffs so everytime we lose to Miami and FSU we do not have to scrap the season![xx(]

Gator Alumni,

Mike,

I have no idea what the "powers that be" at Pitt have in mind. Personally I think the whole college system is a bit screwy, but at least there's some excitement in college games; I agree with Paul, the NFL gets too boring and predictable.

I miss the days when both Pitt and Penn State were Independents and we had the annual Pitt-Penn State rivalry. I also look forward to the day that Florida, Florida State, and Miami all have dismal teams in the same season and fail to make the top twenty. You Southern boys (<i>and the California boys too</i>) need to come up north and play a bowl game in the snow and mud. Thats REAL football!

Mike,

I imagine your not alone in those sentiments :-)

Paul, don't worry mate, with that Leak kid as your QB the gates will back up in the thick of things real soon.

I miss the days of the independents too. FSU was one for many years. The scene now demands conference allegiance. I am not sure if thats a good thing or not. I don't think you'll have to wait too much longer for that Pitt-Penn State rivalry to heat back up. Both teams are good programs and will be back in the spotlight its just a question of when. In the meantime............Go Noles!

Bring on playoffs, with higher ranked 1st round teams hosting the game. Meaning, Michigan and Penn State can host those candy ass Southern Teams in the rain and mud. Plus, we might see a west coast team once in awhile.

But, just remember, if you end up in the Swamp...
