Colonial Campaigns Club (CCC)

After a lot of hassles and problems with this "program", I've had enough. Can I get some alternative suggestions for an easy to use <b>reliable</b> email program please? Thanks.

Phil - I have used Netscape Messenger for over eight years and have had zero problems, especially those that related to Javascript viruses that Outlook received.
I now use Mozilla's Messenger. Mozilla is the forerunner for all Netscape builds. It has nice features in the browser like turning off "unwanted popup content" like Yahoo ads, etc.
I am sold on both products. I know folks that love Eudora. For some reason I cant get it to work on my PC. Dont know why and at present not an issue.

I have been using INCREDIMAIL for several months and really like it. It has many more features than OE and can IMPORT all your OE addresses. If you want all the features, it does coSt, but I feel it is well worth it.

I have used Netscape Messenger and found it very good.

There are other free and $$$ programs around, including Eudora.

Heh, lots of options, but I use Eudora, and I know that Rich Hamilton does as well, and we both love it.

Absolutely Gary! [:D] Been using Eudora since '95 and haven't found a reason to switch yet. Really love the abilty to handle attachments seperate from my e-mail (having them all go to my C:\Temp directory when the mail is downloaded - and Norton scans them as they come in, so viruses are caught before they can cause aproblem.) Stationary is anothe huge asset. I use it all the time in the clubs. Then there's multiple signatures, unlimited amount of e-mail accounts you can check at one time, Mailing lists within the address book, etc...[8D] And, it's free, if you don't mind the litte add window, or you can pay to get rid of it.[^]

Thanks much guys, I'll do some homework on those suggestions. For the second time in three months, I've had ALL my saved email completely deleted. I walked away from my computer tonight with tons of important emails in folders, I come back 10 minutes later and they're all gone. Symantec (Norton) blames MS Outlook Express, Microsoft blames Symantec. I did complete system virus scans with 3 different programs, all with negative results. This is one major hassle I'm not willing to go through again.

My cat gets near the keyboard sometimes and strange and different things happen to my desktop! No, the cat IS box trained!
Something about a total distaste for poodles! He sneaks up on the discussion board (CCC) and posts mean things about your dog. I caught him at it just the other day and made him do fifty pushups.
That wore him out and he has been sleeping ever since. Lazy critters those cats!

Well Bill you may be onto something there. I'm not faring too well at Bennington vs Tom Gremmels because dear Bartholemew suggested a punch up the middle, which I was leary of. Anyway when I came back into the room, the poodle was inspecting the Bennington map with a sheepish look on his muzzle, and Outlook Express was opened also. That's when I discovered all my email had vanished and he quickly offered me a Bristol's to divert my attention. He'll go under the lash if I find him to be responsible! I think that slobbering Yankee hound of Buck and Snort's might be trying to cozy up to him behind my back, which I'll have none of I say!

There to the amazed eyes of the two hardened veterans, Old Blue and Bart are sitting together lapping up brew and woofing and howling trash about there "masters".

"T'aint no use no more Buck!" Eli says.

Phil, probably tooooo late for your OE problem, but, when I used OE, I had a program that would back up my mail folders and I always had something to fall back on. Also, you can archive your files. Like backing them up, but then actually deleting messages from folders, after backing/archiving.)

One good program was Mailbag and another was Express Assist.

They might work with other email programs, also.

Phil! Is that going to be your excuse? The Poodle made you do it? Well, if your were leading your men like you should be instead of courting your admirers, you'd have me whooped by now.

Well since it's not looking real chipper for the King's Army in this little encounter, whose fault <u>would</u> that be Sir?? Certainly not mine! [:I] Yes, I believe the poodle will be dining on plain old filet mignon after this affair, instead of his usual triple thick medium-rare London broil. Bad boy! Now go lay down in a cannonball crater somewhere and let me try to extract us from this most difficult position you've put us in! [:(!]

Over heard at King George's Court

Phil: "Your most glorious and magnificent magesty, While I was seeing to my baggage and keeping the convicts in Our Army from getting to my perfume, wigs and faux moles, my poodle made a daring and futile attack. This last battle, as you now see is therefor not my fault."

King George: "Was? Krieg? Was Krieg? Was ist hier los? Wie namen Sie? Wo sind Sie?"

So as you can see Sir Natta's reputation at Court is not tarnished due to his subordinate's debacle.

Poor old Fat King George is not sure what to make of this Big Hair General fighting some war far away.

However, this battle is 5 turns away and after losing half of my army and the remaining bit of my army in shambles, this battle will most likely end in a draw. Sort of like kissing your sister. Or in Phil's case your Dog????
