They state that the Guards didn't carry Regimental Colours at all ... rather they had King's Colours - which were scarlet instead of based on the Union Flag - and company colours. [:)]

This is the very problem I've been running into. Red flag, white flag, no flag, cross, no cross, blue facing, yellow facing...the CO of one of the oldest reenactor groups of the 1st FG saw my unit webpage and emailed me sometime ago advising me that I should display an all yellow flag with small Union Jack. So like I said there's a lot of controversy about this regiment's flag, or possible lack of one now. [:)] I prefer white with red cross but if the debate ever gets settled I'll go with that.
