Hugo, I always welcome a game with an honorable opponent, but I am currently committed to six of them, three of which easily turn around one or two turns per day. Well, they would if I could manage to keep up. I am currently working on a turn against your C-in-C, Marechal Jensen. It is, I hate to admit, very long overdue.
I am also the Staff Adjutant for the Anglo-Allied Army and a hopeful candidate for the Presidency of our club. All of which tend to keep me rather busy at the moment.
I take it from your posts that you tend more toward a veteran than a shavetail Sous Lieutenant.
I want to commend you on your posting here in the forum. Many newly assigned French officers never even visit the forum the first time to acknowledge the toast presented on their behalf. Of course, given the drinking habits of many of the senior officers, coupled with the fact that the costs of their welcoming party are placed entirely on their newly commissioned tabs, I can certainly understand their reticence. Marechal Bardon has a particularly nasty, and consistent, tendency to consume his alcohol by the barrel, rather than the glass, on each and every occasion my poor Hanoverian Brigade is footing the bill. I must admit that he does well cover the whole spectrum of inflicting harm on his adversaries, both militarily and economically.
I do so hope you will continue the fine trend you have established with posts here in the Rhine Tavern. I personally very much enjoy the banter and participate as much as I am able. General Peters spoke correctly when he said that such banter is intended for fun, and should never be taken seriously.
Now, Cadet Esteller, I must admit to having a very curious nature and active interest in all of the officers in our fine club. I see that you are from Spain. Excellent! I am always glad to see officers joining our ranks from all parts of the world. The international aspect of our club is fascinating to me. I have developed many friends here from many countries that I wish I had the means and time to visit. What can you tell us of yourself, gaming experience or personal as you so choose? What led you to the NWC, and what prompted you to join on the side of France?
