Marco was willing, Mark declined sighting that the membership at large will vote in the rule changes.
I suggest when the cabinet minutes are published, we copy all the threads related to these rule changes be posted so all can see and judge accordingly.
The truth is that I have been discussing these differences with Marco privately for a very long time now. Unless Marco forwarded these discussions to John, which I doubt, John was not aware that they had already occurred. Marco and I see some things quite differently, and on a very fundamental basis. It has been a most frustrating and exasperating experience. It is time for the membership to step forward and decide the issues by their majority vote. It is, after all, their club.
My actual intention was to suggest the publication of all of the Cabinet threads pertaining to our discussion, and vote, for each rules section. I am glad to see that John had the same thought himself. Marco's opinions were always solicited and all members were given an equal chance to discuss the issues before voting. I get very tired of all the "he said, she said" drama that is intentionally perpetrated by some of our members. I have no qualms about the members reading the actual text of our conversations and deciding the truth of the matter for themselves. There is, of course, a much bigger picture than just these Cabinet conversations, but the discussion of the Club Rules revisions is currently pertinent. In case many of you did not know or recall, I once offered to open the Cabinet up to every member of our club so they could read any of the proceedings first hand. I also advocated the establishment of the Cabinet Minutes. I would personally favor full disclosure of the actual facts.
I also fully agree with what I see that Cliff has just posted while I was composing this.
