Dear all, on request of several cabinet members and many officers I returned the position of CiC, and thus myself, today to the Cabinet.

Sorry Marco, but that is not how this works. You cannot simply come and go as you please. You were appointed to the Cabinet on July 13, 2011 by the five Cabinet members then standing who were John Corbin, Scott Ludwig, Chuck Jensen, Jeka Gulyaev, and Gary McClellan who had stepped down as the Coalition CinC thus creating the vacancy. You resigned of your own free will, but you cannot return to a post that you willfully abandoned in the same manner.

I will consult the four standing Cabinet members to see if they are willing to allow you to return to the Cabinet. Under the precedent buy which you became the Coalition CinC, i.e. Cabinet Appointment, they would also have the right to appoint someone to take your place. Their majority vote will decide the issue. If the new club rules are adopted, it will thereafter be the members who decide the issue by their majority vote.

If we take his words for what they are Marco said he retreated from the Cabinet... and then came back.

What happen if the Cabinet can't decide what to do because of a split vote since you have only 4 voting members?

It's nice to make-up new rules as you go since there is nothing in the actual rules that talk about it... not even in the rules to come. The only thing I can see is that any side can interpret them the way they want.

I agree with David, big difference between retreating and resigning.

I see no difference at all, it is simply parsing now that he wants to come back.

Gentlemen

"How many Officers can dance on the Head of a Needle" Brigade to the front :D

OED Retreat = Retire

Would the Cabinet give this matter some carful consideration :!:

By all means take a vote on the return issue, if there is a tie then consider how it may be resolved.

Either hold a quick election for a replacement for the "retired" C. C. in C. or co-opt a member that all Cabinet Members approve until the Rule vote is decided .

First people complain that he stepped down because he should/could not - Now people complain he stepped up because he should/could not.

Stepping up puts us where we were - So ....... is there some method whereby we can :-

(a) Decide if he should stay.

(b) Decide who would replace him.

I don't know the man - I did not realise until recently that there was so much politics within the club.

I am just airing "my" confusion over "my" perception of recent events - suppose I should add "again" ;-) Perhaps I should start my own web site - Confused dot Com. Rats! Someone has beaten me to it. ;-)
