I have had a cavalry unit overrun an Arty battery, and eliminate the crew, but not the guys. This is the first time I have seen this happen.
1) Can you recrew the battery, like you can in the ACW games?
2) How?
3) Can you capture and use the guns?
4) How?
5) If you cannot recrew or capture, what is the purpose of leaving the guns, other than possibly esthetics?

Ensign Davis,

When charging cavalry "overrun" an UNLIMBERED battery, the btty is not eliminated, but simply "uncrewed". If friendly infantry re-capture the uncrewed btty, the following turn the btty is automatically re-crewed. If enemy INFANTRY move through the uncrewed btty it will be eliminated. If any enemy unit, either cav or infantry, "melees" the uncrewed btty, it is automatically eliminated.

Uncrewed guns cannot be "captured" and used by the opposing side.

Regards,

Paco
