Napoleonic Wargame Club (NWC)

Well Doug since you brought it up, I spent about an hour at work doing the math, and if my fuzzy math is correct here's the breakdown.

Comparing wins to losses (Russia excluded since they do not list losses) here is the breakdown:

France
973 Wins
987 Losses

British
500 Wins
452 Losses

Austria
132 Wins
174 Losses

Russia
284 Wins

Prussia
214 Wins
187 Losses

Percentage Wise this is how it goes (excluding Russia):
France wins 49.6%
France loses 50.3%

British win 52%
British lose 47%

Austria wins 43%
Austria losses 56%

Prussian wins 53.3%
Prussia loses 46.6%

Do the math and Prussia is the best performing Army in the Club and the French are the second worst. [:D][:p][}:)][B)][8][:0][:X][;)][8D]

Of all armies that have I Corps. (France, British, Austria, I Corps means the army has a corps numbered 1 and more than 1 corps):

French win 70%
French loose 30%

Austria win 47%
Austria lose 53%

British win 72%
British lose 27%

So the data shows the Allies are still better than the French!! [:D] Prussia is the best performing army in the Club!!

Sir,

I am impressed with your dedication and industry. I will bow to superior numbers and the facts. This is impressive. How did you break out the individual Corps? I am very happy with an I Corp 70% Victory rate, especially since some of the Allied Armies (Russian) have a huge unherent advantage from the start.

Scott, these numbers are approximations at best and may I say the Allied numbers remind me of WW2 aircraft loss reports: a bit bloated.

If you add up the Allied victories you get 1130. Now look at the French loss report. Someone is not reporting their numbers correctly OR it just all got lost in the wash.

Now the Allied victories are probably accurate and perhaps the French didnt report enough losses.

Now if you add up the reported Allied losses it comes to 813 (with no Russian figures reported of course). Take the French victory count of 987 and subtract 813 from it and there could be a total of 174 Russian losses if we can believe the French victory count (and they are probably higher). Or perhaps a few of those are other Allied losses that for some reason were never tallied.

Which by the way means that the Russians have the best winning percentage of any army at 62.6 percent.

All I know is that now I am out of the club the Allies/Austrians should see the victory percentage go their way!!!!

As for Prussia being the best army in the club ... yes they still are the best braggers! [:D] Noone will dispute your claim in that dept.!

Thanks Doug!! [:D] I was bored at work, so gave me something to tinker with for an hour. Besides I had to humor myself and get back at you!! [:p] The individual Corps was just any army that had a corps with the number 1. [:D] The Russians don't have a I Corps so they're not included.

Yep I'm the best bragger!! [:D][:p] All kidding aside, everyone's data is flawed obviously for the most part. But the French records are severely outdated so that accounts for the differences somewhat, so it is not all to Russia, but not all to Prussia either. [:)]
