 Post subject: BGW problem

I have a little technical problem with my BGW game. When infantry and artillery units fire white boxes appear there over units in 3D mode (in places where the smoke from the muskets and cannon is displayed).
Does anyone have the same problem? And is there anything I can do to correct this? I do not have this problem with Civil War Battleground titles.

Yes, I have the same problem but only with PBEM-games, not if I play the AI.

I guess the PBEM part of the game is not upgraded to 32-bit.

I have the same problem playing the AI (with the 32 bit upgrade) and I would sure like to know how to fix it ???

I have had it happen, and have seen it in the ACW titles. Normally if you turn off the video effects, I think it stops it, or one of those options turned off does.

General Ludwig,
Your tip worked. I turned Sound Effects Off and no more problems with white squares.
Of course not hearing French 12 pounders blasting apart Allied battalions takes some fun out of the battle.
