Napoleonic Wargame Club (NWC)

Now the French army is the place to be.

You get two armies to pick from. Many Allies fight with us so if you want to be in the Saxon corps go right ahead. If you prefer a Legere regiment we can see to that.

If you prefer the cavalry corps - saddle up and come ahead!

Just remember: you are fighting with the greatest leader of the period: Napoleon, Emperor of the French, King of Italy.

A baton in every knapsack. Our neighboring countries and duchies literally douse us with great foods to eat and drink!

Do you like to travel? How about Egypt? Want to ski in the winter then Switzerland is for you! Do you like water? We have a fine navy that can transport your army anywhere you like!

Learn to speak German. We tend to OCCUPY alot of our time there since Austria and Prussia dont know how to govern their subjects. They all looked so unhappy that we took pity on the poor peasants and gave them a feeling of national pride! If the French didnt invade a country now and then the nobility would treat them like ... well peasants!

So join the French army and see the world!

As I recall, the Prussians did not do to well when they outnumbered Davout and lost in such a way that I would not try and talk so big about the Prussian arms.[}:)][:D][;)]

That is all that is required. We all know about the army vs. army matchup!!!

Prussians lose in 1805 diplomatically - dont answer call to help Allies.

Prussians lose in 1806 big time. Humiliatied. Sabers snapped in half.

Prussians cant lick their upper lip in 1813 until Austria enters the fray.

Prussians whipped at Ligny in 1815.

Only because Napoleon was outnumbered did they win against him at Waterloo! Ha!

Prussians never beat Napoleon straight up. Always some minor Marechal and that with much aid from the Ruskies. Good thing they came to the party! [;)]

You're wrong, Bill, the <font size="3"><font color="red">British</font id="red"></font id="size3"> army might be small, but it's a professional army and, without doubt, the best, as the battlefields of Spain and Waterloo clearly demonstrate.

The greatest leader of the period = Wellington

Do you like to travel? Not only Spain and Egypt, but also India and America will offer ample opportunities for distinction.

There are German units in the British army, so you can learn the language from them. There are also opportunities to learn Portuguese, Spanish and other languages, whilst ridding the world of the Corsican ogre.

Having more men on the field shows Command initiative. Failure to bring more men to a fight against unknown numbers is the failure of the Commander himself...oh wait that's right!! Napoleon left his men to die not once, but 3 times! [:p][:D]

As for Wellington, he was the Brit best and had bested most of the French commanders sent against him, but he never faced Davout and as for Waterloo, he was saved by the Prussians. Waterloo was lost because napoleon made bad choices in command and failed to take a more active part at Waterloo, leaving Ney in charge. The best thing you can say for ole Blucher is that he was tough and determined, but he was not a very good tactician.
