<br />One note guys: according to Rich about 70 percent of our sales comes from guys that play solo. Some of them also PBEM but there is a large portion of them that NEVER transition over to PBEM mainly because they dont want to wait days and months to find out the outcome of a battle.

Then, I would think a HIGH priority should go to the AI after scenario design.

"about 70 percent"

Yeah, I agree with Ernie. If I was trying to earn a living by making games, and I knew 2 out of 3 sales are to people who play solo I'd make sure I was catering to them more than any PBEM group. (no offence guys.)

Hi All
Perhaps HPS should consider marketing activites that include the PBEM website addresses for the main clubs being distributed with the software. 'looking for opponents go to....'

Good for both parties. I would argue 70% might play solo but less than half of them would do it by choice. I owned the Talonsoft games for years without knowing about NWC. I may be wrong on this but seems like an opportunity for HPS.

For me personally I like to play the AI if it is decent or at the very least to get a feel for the map and the battle itself.

What I find sorely lacking in this genre is the ability to play via TCP/IP. I know some of us are a littler older than the average gamer out there but in the end I like a game where you do not have the chance to mull movements and what have you for hours.

Napoloenic Battles did not give such largess where the Commander in the heat of battle could step back and reflect for days before sending his orders out.

I know some of you keep saying I only have limited time to play my games but for me, I would much rather play 1 game a month with a dedicated time slot as opposed to sending 100's or 1000's of emails over a 6 month period.

But the game does have TCP/IP capability. I have played online several times. I have to connect directly to my cable modem to do it but it can be done.

Let me know if you ever want to play online and we can arrange a time. As long as its not a LARGE battle we can do it.

Rich will point out that all of the clubs are linked from the HPS website. You must understand: there are folks out there that buy our games that want nothing to do with a club. They just want to play the AI and that is it. You would think that its a SMALL miniscule minority but nope, its a LARGER number than that. As Rich has told me: 70 percent of our customers WANT/DEMAND/ARE FED UP WITHOUT a good AI opponent.

I think it merits doing more work on the titles so I plan on adding in several new scenarios to accomodate them.
