Hi To All
My instinct would say that Jena is the favourite title of most club players now. Is everyone going to run the new patch?

that:

increases the stacking to 1800
Increases the French infantry morale
And some other stuff

I get the feeling almost no one agrees with it if you do agree with it please post here, I don't want to load it if there will be no opponents. Maybe eveyone agrees with it and my views are only well mine [:D] in which case I will load it.

Please post.

No plans to download this patch.

If the other HPS titles could be patched to match Jena, then I'd be downloading them all.

Note to all of my opponents: I have updated my games with the new update. If you dont wish to update then I will ask that you end the game for us as a Draw. I for one do not wish to live in the past with errors on the large map and not being able to use the new engine features, one of which is to allow infantry in Line to recover while in a village hex.

You guys are welcome to do as you wish but for any tournament game I play it will be with the new update.

Monsieur I believe that in the end many will down load but for now I will hold to the old and after my games I will up grade its very hard to get someone to play 533 turns as the Russians are coming the other games well the fast and the furious will win! Merci for your input.

For all games underway: Both sides must update to the latest patch (or not) or you are likely to experience file problems. For example, I could not view the replay file of my opponent until I upgraded to the latest patch.

Sir Muddy. you are right of course. But do you want to load it?

Bill I understand fully your position, its not a personal thing, as we say in New Zealand 'mate you are a legend' . I mean it and I salute you indeed this round is on me. I just feel Jena is a great setup as it is. I really believe you nailed it the first time and I want to put up a fight for it as it currently stands.

Dean I agree 2 versions may well do it either way.

Andy - but do you like it or want to load it? [:D]

Salute!

If infantry can form line in a village then they should be able to reform. Nice one Bill!

Colin,
I went straight ahead and installed the patch. I will make a second installation for our game if you don't end up using it.

Colin

Well there are some good features in the patch. Corrections for map, scenarios and line movement recovery in towns. Then there's the more subjective 'corrections' of unit quality. Stacking limit I have misgivings about. DRagoons dismounting I'm indifferent about, I don't see it will be a widely used feature. I'll load, but not altogether cheerfully. That's no criticism of Bill's and others work I would point out.

Well said, Sir Muddy. It's the reason why I will install the patch.Anyway, as said Ed, the French did really needed any more help. So this is not a patch who will change the things. Allied players seem to dislike the game and I can understand why.

Thanks to Bill for his great work.

With all the varried opinions regarding the new patch I have installed another copy of Jena to play without the latest updates. How can I get the earlier updates installed without the current changes?
