Distinguished Gentlemen of the Club,

I have a question about the campaign selections from the Waterloo and Eckmuhl HPS games. In the Waterloo game if you go and choose the campaign path" Waterloo Large Campaign(No Fixed Units) you get 2 choices. 1-Waterloo Large Campaign No Fixed Units and 2-The Waterloo Campaign Begins. The question is that they seem to be the same for all options. Is there a difference or not?

Second, the same thing seems to happen in the Eckmuhl game when choosing from the Eckmuhl in One Battle campaign path. The 1st choice is Eckmuhl in One Battle and the second is THe Battle for Bavaria. Again they seem the same. Is this true?

Curious?,

My experience too. I choose the first one in both cases. Always worked for me. [:)]

The top line of any campaign is the Campaign Overview screen. The title of the campaign always shows up on the first line of choices when you start up a campaign, after you pick the one you want to play.

The other lines you see are the various Branch titles in the campaign. If you were to pick one of those you would skip the campaign dialog text and not know the overall situation.

Some folks may want to dive right in I suppose but you may end up at a Ambush situation!

The top line is always for the Campaign Overview and its the one you always want to use unless you know the name of a Branch you played and want to replay that scenario.

What you want to do is open up the campaign editor some time and look over the campaign file from that viewpoint. Gives you a new appreciation of the campaign structure. Just dont save it if it prompts you to do so.

There is an option to where you can view the campaign in a TREE view. Really helps you to fully understand just how much work goes into some of these files that our team puts together.

Bill,
Thanks for the reply I guess I wasn't bright enough to notice that the first line was the title of the Campaign tree. Have A Happy New Year.

Unconfused for now,

[:D] Happy New Year to you too!

I am always confused but I have been that way so long now that I am used to it. A confusing day is when its normal! I wonder if I missed doing something which just confuses me more! [:p]
