Gentlemen:

I have encountered a difficulty in my pbem games since upgrading systems. I've transitioned from Windows Vista to Windows 7 and, from what I can tell, my copy of HPS Waterloo runs fine on my new system. Unfortunately, I cannot get the new install to open my old pbem files (the current turns). It gives an error message if I attempt to show a replay and, if not, simply leaves me looking at the single hex that shows when the game is started.

One thing to note - the new system is 64 bit as opposed to the 32 bit version of Vista that I was using. Could this be the culprit? Has anyone else experienced this sort of problem when upgrading? Any workarounds? Thanks so much for any insight you might offer.

Regards,

I sometimes encounter this problem. It may not be anything to do with upgrading but a file corruption - only way round it I know is both sides to delete the pbemxxx and yyy files and replay the previous turn.
