Welcome to the Hanoverian brigade, Ensign Glazier!

Keep your money handy. You are sure to be joined by several of our senior Allied commanders who will all say very kind things, as long as you are buying of course. Heck, even some of the French officers will say nice things under those rules of engagement! :P

But the Hanoverians are well known for their generosity at the taverns. That is why Helga is rolling out a fresh keg of good ale even as we speak... on Glazier's tab of course!

Now there is a man that I should properly thank! Sir Muddy, I owe you a debt of gratitude for the other day. You certainly saved me from a beating at the hands of that particularly quick Frenchman, and all of his buddies if I am any judge of French character. Helga, make certain that the good Field Marshall's glass remains full, no matter how many times he may spill it!

His Majesty obviously hates his Motherland. So many promotions, so generous officers in charge... Half GDP would be spent here in the Tavern.

Congratulations, gentlemen! Sure you won;t forget those who liberated your neat kingdom  By the way, Helga, why this mug is still empty?

So glad you could join us General Kosyanenko! It is not so often that we get to treat our fine, Russian allies to a drink. Helga, please do see that the good General's mug remains filled. It simply would not do for the Commander of Russia's Second Army to go thirsty.

We certainly do appreciate the efforts of your countrymen to liberate our homeland. Westphalia be damned, I say! It is the Kingdom of Hanover, and so shall it remain. :D

And regarding our fondness for our drinks, we view that as our contribution to a vibrant economy. Our comsumption creates a demand, thereby stilmulating the market and providing job security for farmers, distillers, and teamsters. Not to mention beautiful bar maids and taverns such as this. So drink my good general. The night is still young and there are many kegs left to tap.

Thank you all for the kind welcome. I must confess I have been busy back at the homefront with our new baby.

However, the war beckons, I have left the domestic duties in the capable hands of my lovely wife, and I am ready to serve our country in this glorious war. Unfortunately, since I am sending all my pay back to my wife and child, I can only afford one round. So, drink up mateys, this one's on me.

I am still trying to figure out how everything works in this army. Any pointers for how a rookie can find some battles where I won't get immediately slaughtered by much more experienced leaders?

Congratulations on the new arrival. :D

As for pointers, simply DO NOT play the French Army and the Allies will never lose.

Greetings General Sands, how about a game? You could teach me the meaning of fearing the French Armee. I am up for a small game to help me cut my teeth.

How about a nice small game of Waterloo – 032.The_Ridge_v1, me as the Allies, to get me started?

That sounds fine with me. I have played that scenario, but most of the time these scenarios play differently.

Please send me an email: waryor [at]gmail[dot]com . Please select any options you want and fire up the game.

Welcome to the Allied Army Jeff. You will be able to throw out or accept a challenge on the main wargame board site
opponent finder - viewforum.php?f=24.

You can aim to play members of similar rank but I see you've gone to the top with General Sands...Good luck. :)

Another Hanoverian? My goodness, they're multiplying like rabbits.

Welcome to the club sir, and pay no heed to what you can afford, as a single round in this establishment has been known to bankrupt many a fine officer.

For myself and my "one round", I'll take a keg. :P

Cheers!
