General Ludwig. It would seem Sir Muddy von Steiner wants to go where the Iron Crosses are won.
(I am whistling that German volk song now)

I shall do my best to meet this famous officer and prevent you having to award such a medal to an Englishman! Waterloo / Wavre is our flavour.

Salute!

I actually meant to respond to this post sooner. I like Cliff's idea. I may know of a place to find such standards, but it will take some time for me to build my library to what it needs to be.

Does anyone else know where such standards might be located?

Cliff, can you provide a graphic example of exactly what you envision?

Colin, I cannot fault Sir Muddy at all for choosing to play the Prussians. If he is going to accept the substantial risk of facing you on the field of battle, he might as well secure the full reward for his victory. At least he did choose a scenario that featured the Anglo-Allied Army as well, including those wonderfully, fine Hanoverians.

Now we most make a rule that the winner of Major victory wins his opponents standard (Unit or Regt or Brig or Corps) standard. An how its is displayed on his signature.

I like it, Cliff. Kind of like kill markings on aircraft. I would think the standards would need to be rather small. Hmmmm......

Let me see what Scott posts as a site and think how this could be accomplished. :P :P :P

Anyone's ideas on this subject are more than welcome. :?: :?: :?:

You most post your win on this page to get the standard the club awards the standards they will applied it to your picture or unit name or coat of arms. Lost of coat of arms will be the next step. But the victory most be a major victory.

Gentlemen,

I feel that Cliff's idea has merit. Though as stated any representation would have to be rather limited in size, certainly for our more successful officers.

What about this site: http://www.warflag.com/napflags/html/flags.htm

It seems to have all the major and minor states involved in the Wars. Unfortunately however, the Hanovarian site is currently under construction.

Regards

Yeah, that figures, always discriminating against the little guys! That's probably because they cannot decide which big country owns us on any given day.

Love the site, Greg! I have already tagged it to my Favorites.

Thanks!!!

The correct answer is.... France. And I have it on good authority that Hanover has just been added to the Kingdom of Westphalia.

Dang, here we go again! Do you have any idea how hard it is to try to keep a white uniform clean on a long, field march? By the time you finally arrive at the battle, the men all look like dirty, brown cockroaches! And God forbid that one of them ever actually gets shot in a white uniform. It makes them look like a cottonball that was used to stop a nosebleed, and the effect on morale is not very good either.
