So, since I am still fairly new to the Napoleonic era and the HPS Napoleonic Series in general; I still have some questions about the units.

In all of your veteran experience what are the most Potentate Units for...

La Grande Armee: ???

Austria: ??

Russia: ??

Prussia: ??

Great Britain: ??

Other Coalition Nations: ??

Allied French Nations: ??

Maybe spark a debate ?

I suspect for the majority of the answers we would see some sort of Cavalry, but then again I could be wrong and I am trying to see other Generals opinions to help with the gaming experience as a whole. Thanks Gentlemen!!

I would say the French Armee of 1806 on a whole!

Cavalry have the most potential to do damage to another unit. With the charge bonus anything from 3x to 5x a cavalry regiment can really cause a lot of casualties in one melee. In contrast even the OG Gren a Pied cannot do as much damage.

I would say that that the OG Gren a Cheval are the best unit in the game if used correctly. Being heavy cavalry they match up best against other cavalry and their morale rating (usually 8) is among the very best.

For the British the various Guard cavalry are very good too.

Now ... over the LONG haul there is nothing like a well placed artillery battery. Or even a good infantry battalion that doesn't run out of ammo. Thus an infantry battalion that does not accrue much fatigue and is able to be in line formation and fire on the enemy can cause well over 500 losses in firing alone. The large Austrian battalions also qualify as some of the toughest units to defeat and that would also go for those battalions in Soult's corps of 1805-1807.

Horse artillery that has 8lb guns is very powerful.

But as long as the OG Gren a Cheval do not accrue too much fatigue or losses they can remain a powerful forces on the battlefield. A good commander can involve them in as many as five to six charges in a game if handled probably. Do the math - at 200-300 losses on a battalion at the very least they can probably dish out something like 2000 losses rather easily. That is if attacking on the flank, etc.
