I thought the French had eagles. Maybe I misinterpreted my history books because those look like pigeons to me. What happened to the French eagles? Don't eagles eat pigeons? I can only think of two explanations for the event, either those are some darn, brave pigeons, or the reputation of the French eagles has been highly overrated.

Oh, how quickly we honorable Coalition officers are blamed for underhanded dealings conducted to the detriment of our most colorful and wonderfully perfumed adversaries.

Looks like the simple forces of Nature to me. Eagles replaced by pigeons. Likely pigeons replaced by sparrows, or perhaps hummingbirds next. It rather follows the natural pattern of an Empire in decline.

I do find myself thinking that you redoubtable, French warriors must be partial to the pestilential fowl as you seem to be content to leave them in their place as the representatives of your Grand Armee. If you were not secretly fond of them, they likely would have been removed by now.

Looks like the poor dears will be picked dry of all their plummage to be used for French uniforms....

Oh wait, they're not peacocks are they?

Are yes I recognise them now. They are the pigeons of Trafalgar square. Just like rats leaving a sinking ship even they have come across to the empire of enlightenment.

OK, I will give you credit General, that is a pretty good save. :P :P :P

You seem to be the only Frenchman defending the Empire, although I am sure that you Marechal commander will be along shortly as well to join in the fray.

He is not here to defend the Empire, he is here because he is on duty. He has 2 missions:
- entertain his fellow French officers with his clever comments
- and save the coalition from the boredom of talking only between themselves

Hey, I love it! At least I do get alcohol, even if it does tend to be more of the 'rubbing' kind.

I also appreciate the fact that I don't have to drink alone. "To the French Imperial Garde, may your pigeons, um, eagles ever soar!" :P :P :P

Not a chance in Hades! We just drink it for the effect.

I hope you will forgive me, but I do need to be very certain that you left your firearms on your horse today. I still remember how you nearly shot my hand off with that fine, Hanoverian rifle you were carrying some months back.

Yes no fear my dear Colonel that rifle is in my trophy cabinet. We generally prefer swords in the Guard anyway.
