Fred, I am an American as is David Guegan, you and many other officers in this club. As such, we do tend to be a bit insular as Colin Knox so aptly noted to me in a recent email. It is a product of our relative geographic isolation (i.e. Western Hemisphere) from much of the rest of the world, where most of the other countries reside. My recent dilemma with Anton elsewhere in this forum was entirely unintentional, but arose as a direct result of a somewhat insular mindset. I have apologized to him for my unthinking remarks and have come to better realize the interactions of the international community, particularly as they apply to our club.

In consideration of the feelings and perspectives of others in this club, I am going to respectfully ask that you remove the image of a President of the United States of America from your signature line. It is a political statement that could possibly be offensive to others and we need to be cognizant of the feelings of our fellow officers. Real world politics and feelings should be handled outside of our public forums. I would appreciate your assistance in this regard.

Now, having said that, we are a Napoleonic gaming club and you are a Coalition officer. If you want to post graphics of Austrian Grenadiers driving the points of their bayonets through the backbones of their hated, French enemies, have at it. The same leeway applies equally to all of our French officers as well. I personally would prefer to keep things more humorous than gory, but as long as the posts are in context with the theme of our club, I will be fine with it. The only other caveat is that such posts are kept impersonal. I do not ever want to see our forums used to facilitate attacks on specific individuals in this club. We all are gentlemen officers and our conduct should consistently reflect that attitude.

I agree as well too. I think we've had enough fighting for quite a while on these forums this past year, much to my own guilt....

Removed. As Requested.

If David has a concern with me and my "views" we can always "talk" in the "Off Topic" tavern. I served in this country for many years as a Flight Medic in Afghanistan and am proud to be an American!! I continue this on a daily basis saving lives for a living as a Medic/Firefighter as well.

I have no problem with your views. 8) It's just that we are in an club about Napoleonic wars and the ambiance/flavor of that era is important for us.

If pride is the question then put your standard up to any one who will tack the challenge and show your pride! I was a Navy Corpsman during Vietnam war era.

Thanks for making that revision, Fred. And thanks for your service in Afganistan on our behalf. Also to you Cliff for your service in Vietnam. We love you guys!!!

As for me, I really don't think anyone who knows me would ever classify me as being politically correct either. It is not really my style at all, but it is important to be mindful of the beliefs and feelings of others in this international forum lest it explode into a war of words which is much better to avoid. I will not ever simply roll over on my beliefs, but I will always respectfully listen to those of others.

Thanks again, Fred. I love the Austrian flag you posted! So much so, that I have already copied it into my Images directory in case I find a need for it in the future.

Willkommen Sie im Club, Herr Leutnant!

It is always good to see a Frenchman with some good sense about him. So many are infatuated with the Diminutive Usurper that they lose all sensibility and reason. Following him about and constantly fawning over him like pet dogs. I tell you, sir, it is the pheromones in his perfume that are the culprit.

Here is a tactical tip for you young Lieutenant: Always strive to fight the French from upwind. In this manner, the effect of their odiferous perfume is diminished to the point that you avoid the stinging of your eyes and can actually see your sights to improve your aim. Another helpful tip is to always carry a mirror upon your person. In a pinch, you can fling it into the center of one of their battalions and watch them fight to the death to see which of them will emerge as the new owner for the satisfaction of the Narcissistic tendencies to which they universally succumb.

Gute Jagd, mein Herr, und lang lebe der König!
