Hello,

I recently started a Leipzig scenario (Historical - 3 days of Leipzig) and saw that some French troops that took part in the battle were not taken into account in the scenario (in none of the full Leipzig battle scenarii in fact... 3 or 4 days).

Reynier's VII Corps should arrive on the battlefield late on October 16th. All those knowing about this battle are aware of the special but important role of this unit... most of Reynier's Saxon division changed side but Durutte's French division fought on and conducted some important actions during the withdrawal to Leipzig on October 18th.
None of these divisions appear in the full battle scenario (the only reinforcement for the French is Delmas division) - however they are deployed in smaller scenarii on the northern front of the battle... why?

The other unit missing is DeFrance's 4th heavy cavalry division (III Cavalry corps)... quite a big missing for the French player :(

Is there any chance that this could be taken into account in a future patch?

It looks like Reynier is missing...one for Bill.

As for DeFrance, it depends on your reference. In Nafzigger the division is split between III and IV corps although the one brigade attached to IV corps (Quinette) also appears as part of the Leipzig garrison. Both brigades are present in the scenario. So no problems with that one.

VII Corps - Reynier - An oversight on my part guys. I will add it in for the update.

4th Hvy Div - Defrance - his division was split up. Part was with the Leipzig garrison. The other part was with Marmont's forces in the battle of Mockern.

Yes, I would love to have the division together at some point. Maybe for a what-if situation.

Both brigades do get full command bonuses so there are no issues with them being separate.

Thank you gentlemen,

Great to see your post Andy... do you remember you were my instructor a long time ago? Then you were working on a secret wargame project :D

I had a closer look at the scenarii tonight. About Reynier's corps, my remark is valid for scenarii 72 and 73. Otherwise, Reynier is deployed in scenarii 74 and 75 (operational Leipzig)

As for Defrance, I eventually managed to spot both his brigades... so please, forget it. However, I did not find Defrance himself... Too bad, a great leader! He deserves to be there.

Bonjour Stephane! Yes I remember you well. "Bourreau! Fait ton office!"

Now you know what the project was.....and there are more to come.

Yes, Reynier is present in Operational Leipzig. An oversight in the scenario you play. It was a very big game to test so always some errors. As for Defrance, he joins the many European unemployed....
