Gentlemen,

I would like if someone could recommend me some books talking about logistics, reconnaissance and general staff operation in the Napoleonic Wars. It would suit me to answer for example this kind of questions:

- When the HQ orders a move for a Corps, who and how decide the move?
- How is designed the couriers net?
-What about supplies, who protect them? who work out the requirements?

I'm interested in the more practical questions of the campaign.

Any advice would be appreciate.

Best regards

Roberto,

key questions are:
-in what of the armies?
-at what time?
-in what language?

I prefer french army, from 1800 to 1815 and english or french language; What i am more interested is the couriers system, how is designed the courier net (if it will) ,etc...

No problem what army or the exact year, i think more or less it will be the same (or not :D ).

best

In French there is a little introductory article about logistic here:

Sir,
this legion de honour winning book would give you a detailed info on many aspects of Napoleonic warfare, especially in terms of logistics, staff operations and much more.

PS its in French.
