Brave Officers of France,

My friend and opponent, Fahnrich Stefano Ciampoli from the Austrian Army, seeks a worthy French Officer to engage in battle on the fields of Wagram. Because he has not received a challenge to his post, he is starting to think that I am the only officer left in all of France! I have assured him that is not the case and that the French Army has many brave officers. I am in my second battle with him and can say he is an honorable opponent that fights hard to the bitter end! I am sure if you pick a fair fight about 30 to 50 turns he will gladly do his best to defeat you. I think he has another HPS game that he would also like to play, but I don't remember which one. His english may not be the best but it is far superior to my Italian. He is flexible in regards to optional rules, we have been using all EXCEPT Manual Defensive Fire, No Retreat Overruns, Partial Retreats and Multiple Infantry Melees.

Please send him an email at: ciampo.74@libero.it

After you pick a fight with him, don't forget to say your prayers that you survive his rathe!

Bonne Chance!

Lt Wencz - Salute!
Your most honorable seconding of our worthy Austrian opponent has stirred me to action. I will send my courier to his
tent and let him know which HPS games I have (which do not unfortunately include Wagram), but I have a nice battle in 'Austerlitz' in mind.

Lieutenant Schmidgall,

Well met sir! It pleases me greatly that you will try and arrange a battle with the honorable Fahnrich Ciampoli. I do hope he has Austerlitz for I know he is just itching to fight someone other than me for a change! :) Should I ever be of service to you, please let me know. Until then, I wish you - bonne chasse et bonne chance! (Pardon me while I try to learn some of the French language.)

Regards,

Lt Wencz -
Fahnrich Ciampoli's courier & mine are already exchanging information. It appears we will soon be crossing our swords on the sunny plains of Italy at the battle of Caldiero (Austerlitz game). I look forward to the test of strategy & tactics, as well as making your acquaintance. By the way, excellent post in the Rhine Tavern the other day.

Lieutenant Schmidgall,

That is excellent news sir! I believe you both will have great stories to tell your grand children about your battle! :)

Now, if we could just get one or two more French officers to challenge Fahnrich Ciampoli to a fight at Wagram or Austerlitz, he just might take it a bit easier on me in our battle!

Regards,
