All I said was I didn't care for the confirm thing. The system is fine and I don't have an issue with it. Yes I do read the admin logs by the way.

Something that would be helpful though, for the admins, is the ability to see a games in progress section for their officers.

Good point. That would provide an at-a-glance view of which officers/units are active.

I actually suggested that to Dominik several months ago. He had put it in the system at my request in the last update he did. Unfortunately, because his work was discarded when the system was restored from backup, this improvement was discarded with it.

I am sure he can reinstate it again as he did save the work that he had done.

Clint, how much time does it actually take you to confirm the beginning and ending of a game in the NWC DoR? How much time are you actually spending on this particular task per game?

not much.......I prefer the ACWGC system.

one less email that I have to answer.........or is it two.

The system works well and with a cooperative opponent it's no bother at all. I hardly notice. It's one of the better systems out there, and I've been active in more than a handful of wargaming clubs.

I would have to agree with Clint. I think the ACWGC is much more 'user' friendly and much more stat involved than our DoR. I wish our DoR would include more stats as mentioned above. Such as the 'seeing game in progress' option and scenarios played and how close we are to the next medal etcc... I understand this is all voluntary work on behave of Dominik so I as a newer member, if need be, would be willing to get involved to help out if the DoR is changed in some way. Getting the emails is not much of a problem to me and as mentioned by D.S. Walter, if you have a cooperative and viable opponent it's very simple. Communication is key within this club, specifically.

Gary, our system does those things that you mentioned.

To see your Games in Progress, hit Battles. If you want more detail, hit View.

To see your Scenarios Played, hit Completed. If you want more detail, hit View.

To see your complete Officer History, hit Status.

The only difference is the format of the display. The information is in the system.

I did not see anything in the ACWGC that tracked medals, so you will need to point me to that.

I cannot speak for the other armies in this club, but for the Anglo-Allied Army Officers, I personally research their eligibility for a medal, promotion, or other award every single time that I confirm a game end result involving an Anglo-Allied Officer. I then immediately send an email to my Army Commander informing him that such merits have been earned. This is one of my functions as the Staff Officer for the Anglo-Allied Army. Before I held that post, I tracked my own merit eligibilities. When I became a brigade commander, I started tracking them for my brigade. As a staff officer, I track them for my army.

Each army will have to speak to this issue as to how they handle the rewards for their officers, because I honestly do not know what they do.

I like the way it works and the only issue had was I was not paying attention. If monitoring it or correcting entry errors is an issue for the administrators maybe we could have one member to handle errors. I do not know how many occur.

Al, that is one of the primary purposes of having the player confirmations in our system. It provides for an internal Check and Balance. If you make an entry error, you opponent should check your entry and catch it before he confirms it and vice versa. The DoR Administrator is the last line of defense. We look to see if there is anything odd in the entry, or if one player has entered any comments that would cause us to question the final registration. If you have simply made an error, send either John Corbin or me an email and we will fix it, or push the entry back where you can fix it yourself.

I check the DoR prior to every one of my logins to the forum, and you French officers in particular know that I am constantly present in the RT (Grimace!). I probably average 12-20 logins to the forums every day. I assure you, I keep the DoR current as best as I can. Yeah, I know, I need a life. I actually have one beyond this club believe it or not. Maybe I am just hyperactive. Maybe I just care. I will leave it for you to decide.

Mark sir,

The ACWGC does not have a screen with medals to be reached.Though that would be amazing. I think without a proactive leader like yourself, this option gets easily overlooked. Especially, If your head leader is crazy busy with RL as is the case with the Prussian Army. I do agree with you though, that a player should know and take responsibility of their own records, but that can only to go far until the upper echelons HAVE to take over and recognise these accomplishments.

I’m a new member but the DoR seems pretty easy to use to me. I took the time to read the instructions that were posted in the forum and didn’t have any problems. It’s really just a matter of taking a minute to log in and click. I know we all get busy but the DoR really isn't time consuming or cumbersome to use.

The ACWGC armies, at least the CSA side, has a whole slew of spreadsheets they use to track all sorts of data, medals included. I simply use a word document that has all of the medals listed on the Prussian site and break it down by the different requirements for each medal. Then I have the officers who've been awarded it or who are in the progress of being awarded it. If I get the time I will post it up here. It is an antiquated system, but works in my opinion.

I have been flooded with the updates the officers have accomplished in the past few months and will have them all worked out by the second week in April, probably sooner. I just need to clear some final hurtles at work in the next two weeks, but I'll be blazing through it after that point. I promise. I also didn't feel well the past three months from all the stress and stuff, I have been changing many of my habits to feel better too. A little four day vacation this weekend can't hurt, right! :D

All officers will be recognized, just give me a chance to get there.....
