Here are some Jump Map views of the large maps from Campaign 1814. Dimensions follows the name.

First, the gem of the collection, Paris (304, 197):

Second, Bar-sur-Aube/Colombey (241, 115):

Next, Laon-Craonne (320, 276):

And Arcis-sur-Aube (396, 178):

And finally, here is a composite of the entire Brie Plateau (1064, 630) - the view you see was compiled today so you can get an idea of how large it will eventually be. Brie-Plateau-East (588, 630) is the right side of this screenshot (map comes with game and is used for the large map scenarios #025 - 028). Brie-Plateau-West (476, 630) is in progress (two maps included in the game were drawn from existing work on this map section) and hopefully will be ready for the first update. Or I will release it prior to that with John's permission.

There are features in the Map Editor which make creation of large maps rather simple. Without them it would take many extra hours to complete such large maps.

Bill, salute! Beautiful work, sir! I still love playing on the Six Day scenario maps from Jena-Auerstadt, a true masterpiece! And I very much like the Karlsburg Battle map from that game also. Currently playing a team match on your large Augsburg Campaign map in the Austerlitz game. Fine job with such work in Leipzig as well. Thank you so much for your work! Another round for you on the Tirailleurs' tab! :D

I would love to build a "Germany" map with all of the maps from Jena and Leipzig all on one map.

Of course no one could open it up it would chew up so many resources!

But if you measured it all out the map would be something like 26,000 wide x 24,000 high. The true "large mapsman's" delight!

Sometime I will put together a compilation of all of the Jump Maps from those two titles together so that you can see all of the battlefields of the two games. And eventually it would be fun to put together an entire compilation of Jump Maps from ALL of our games once the series is complete. Would give campaign builders a visual on where all of the maps are located.

Eventually I would like to map out the areas in the passes of the Alps where small actions could be fought. Just use Impassable hexes for those areas that are sheer mountains and make the Embankment hexside impassable as well for those steep gorges. Fighting in the Alps makes one of your legs grow longer ....

This is great Bill thanks!
I also love the big maps. Todd did you realise Karlsburg is Gettysburg? I played it with Tomasz Nowacki in a manuever - it was a fantastic fight. There is even a farm named after him as he was one of Bill's play testers. An excellent Marechal sadly inactive now days.

General Knox, salute!
I am currently playing an excellent fight at Karlsburg with Oberst Walt Moehle. He pointed the Gettysburg comparison out to me. I love this scenario. It is one of the best meeting engagements in the game series (my opinion). There are so many options available to both sides to maneuver their forces, it can be played multiple times (I think).
Join me for a drink, good sir, at the Tirailleur's table.

I updated the pic of the Brie Plateau map. The one I was using was an older version. That part which is the East-Brie-Plateau map was an older view. The final view of that part of the map now shows up correctly.

I will work slowly but surely on this map and hope to have it done by July.

A quick note on the Brie Plateau map: the map of Reims actually overlaps this map but the contour scale is different. Trying to include it with the Brie Plateau map would not work. I would have to do a lot more mapping on the edges. Of course the super map would be to map from the west over to Paris, to the south down to Mormant-Montereau, to the southeast down to Arcis-sur-Aube and hey, why not map more to the north to include Soissons, Laon and Craonne to while I am at it?

Lets see: A large master map at 100 meters per hex and a map at one kilometer per hex that covers the whole thing. Move divisions or brigades in the strategic phase, then drop down to battalions for the tactical battle...

Lt Bajan - get back to your scenario design. Those playtesters are dying to see some more of your fine work! (sound of whip cracking in the background)
