For anyone that is Finnish in the club: do you have a picture (in color hopefully) of what the Finnish militia would look like in 1808-09?

Russians or Swedes in the club also may be able to help. Anyone that has info can contribute. Just felt that those three groups probably could help me the most.

I have searched all over the internet for them. I have found Finnish women's attire for the period (PLENTY) but nothing really for the men.

Black and white would work but I would need to know the colors for each piece of clothing.

Want to add in an icon picture for the Finnish militia for the Finnish War of 1808-09 and this is the only picture I cannot find.

I figure that they did not look like "Davey Crockett" though that kind of clothing was necessary for the cold weather in Finland.

This image is the only one I have found so far.

I was able to lighten up the image to get more details of the clothing.

Now I just need to get an idea of the colors that would be used.

OUSTANDING! Sheesh, I thought by now that every Finnish member in the club would have found one for me.

Sorry you Finns, a Frenchmen beat you!

David - you came through again. Guaranteed free copy of the next game I put out.

This will work fine for Mark and Joe.

I think the question of reach is exactly the problem. I believe if I had a musket, that poor fellow would suffer a rather severe setback to his constitution before he actually brought me within range.

Of course a rifle would serve even better.

I wish I could find the exact URL for the bicentennial website for one of the battles. There they show a picture of their native farm implement that they used. It was similar to a scythe.

However, MANY of the men WERE armed. You have to remember that many of them were not only farmers but hunters. This be Finland in 1808 and not 2008. Fishing also being another aspect of the local's lifestyle.

The impact of the uprising was apparent in the amount of troops that were tied down in trying to put it down. While not large it did detract somewhat from the main mission: defeating the Southern and Northern Army of Finland.

Over the month of May I put together over 27 maps and over 30 scenarios on the war. Lets just say that I now know about 500 times the amount of information than I did back in April.
