Bravo! Salute!

I concur most heartily with l'Cuirassier.

Such endless fun this Tirailleur has pondering the maps, waging battles across the breadth of Europa.

Engaging such interesting cast of characters through shared spirit of adventure and pursuit of glory.

A toast, one and all, to the folks who bring us these fine games!

Regards,

Monsieur after you have been in a hundred battles and played the best in the club and been beat that many times then you come and tell me how bon a customer you are! I too had high hopes ten years ago how many vet are still around and playing and writing on this page. You who are all new bon chance that includes the president who has impress me with his victories. When I first started there was a fire ball also who became my Corps commander where is he now, you will not hear from him i haven't in five years. Once a great General said after you been in 50 battles you can shout orders!

Hey Cliff,

Please lighten up! This is fun and games and not the real world which is messed up enough that escaping here should be fun.

And if your comments are directed at Lt Colonel Schmidgall you have it all wrong. Because he is a breath of fresh air who is putting some energy in game play and making team battles fun.

So have a great day and Battle On

Al don't let Colonel Dumas's ramblings bother you he spends to much time at the bar sometimes, well often
(scared to think what he will say to me now, probably set one of his alligators from his local bayou onto me  )

I think you, Todd and other new officers are a great addition to the club. We need fresh blood to post in this tavern to keep up the fun. As you say real life can be a drag and we don't need that invading this nice little world we have. (its 1809 is it not?)

There are still veterans around. I am still here after joining in 2005 I think it was. I have fought including manuevers around 36 games over that time.

I know many veterans from the origins of the club are still here Mssr's Moss and Bardon are often around. Not to mention Sir Muddy, Lucky Jim and many more. And of course their are a good number of our Russian friends who visit and post. There famous names adding to the international character of our club.

Some of the French Marechal's and Generals don't post here but they are still active players as well. Many of them read the boards.
On the whole when I look at the musters I see many of the original players. There are more here than missing from what I can see.
All in all we have an active club.

Helga another round for this table!

Colin,

I joined in something like 1999 or 2000. Not really that fresh. ;-)

I admire all those who have been members of the NWC from its beginnings and later. I was a member of the INWC for a number of years before it shut down. But really did not learn the intricacies of the games till I joined the NWC.

I have made many new friends and found some old ones here as well.

While I sometimes do not understand Colonel Dumas I still think he makes things interesting. No offense intended!

Thanks and ....

Battle On

I've been here since December 1798...er, I mean 1998, and I believe I am the longest serving officer in the Anglo-Allied Army, although I don't get through as many games as many of the old veterans, usually only having one battle on the go, thus the painfully slow progression through the ranks (or perhaps it's my Yorkshire accent and lack of breeding holding me back  ). But I am still active and loving the games. 8)

Colonel Dumas is a fine officer and one of the club's real characters. He just likes to stir the pot a little when he hasn't got enough opponents to satisfy his insatiable thirst for glory... :P

Mesi Tony, what I was saying is no matter how many games they come out with there no since of buying them because it's new. It's like sex I would like to had a women to had it with then to have it with my self  If there is no one to play all these games with, what is the reason of continuing buy them. You will get 30 to 40 reads and not one player will play there just to too many game now. Let's play the new one just like my grand children before they finish with one thing they are on to something else. I use to have ten games a week now am down to maybe one or two. I have no problem with new blood all well for the club but who is playing? They use to show what games were being played now nothing. I thank I have five or maybe ten post for play just like the INWC were I played two games the hold time this club is drifting the same way.

Colonel Dumas,

I have 3 Napoleon in Russia battles going right now. 1 in Austerlitz, 1 in Waterloo and 1 in Leipzig. So I would say I am playing the old games and the new ones as well. I am sorry to say that 2 of the games seem to be in limbo because my opponents have bailed on me. So I am playing games across the board.

So good hunting and I hope you find more worthy opponents.

Clifton, that is why I left the French army, to find opponents. It has worked for me, perhaps you just need a new location. Austria, Prussia and Russia all had Poles in thier army. Try switching it might work for you, too.

Al, I been thinking about the Republic of Santo Domingo, but I would be my own recruit now if I had General rank that would work for me and all the French players could battle me. That would be historical and right. General Dumas runs back to the Iles and join the rebellion.
