Gentlemen of the NWC

I would like to call your attention to the promotions of two fine officers within the Prussian armee 1813 BefreiungsKriege's 1.reserve Infanterie brigade.

Martin Huscka has been promoted to the rank of Generallieutenant and henceforth will be know as
Generallieutenant Martin GroßHerzog Huschka von Nordmark

Gary Whalen has been promoted to the rank of Oberstlieutenant and henceforth will be known as
Oberstlieutenant Gary Graf Whalen von Großlichterfelde

My congratulations to both officers.

Regards
Walt

Congratulations, gentlemen! :P :P :P

And my compliments to Walt for being proud enough of the accomplishments of the officers under his command to publically acknowledge them before the entire membership in this common forum.

Preußens Gloria

We are ALWAYS proud of our men and take stock in the fact that we might be one of the smallest armies in the Club but is by far more front and center and more vocal than the three major ones with twice as many men!

And the Hanoverian Brigade of the Anglo-Allied Army is more vocal still, and with far fewer men than Prussia can muster. I actually don't see any more officers regularly posting from the entire Prussian Army, than I do from the Hanoverian Brigade or the provisional Tirailleurs et Dragons of France.

The biggest difference that I do see is that the Prussian Army Commander posts more than any other Army Commander in the club. I readily acknowledge this to be a singularly important difference, although I really think your challenge might have been better directed at your commanding counterparts, rather than the other armies in general.

In defense of my own army though, I must point out that our Unit Commanders, as opposed to our Army Commander, have long been publically acknowledging all promotions and medal awards for our officers. This is by design, and not in any way coincidental. In truth, the Anglo-Allied Army is actually at the very forefront of the club in this regard.

I actually don't consider the Hanoverians a separate army....they are inclusive in the overall numbers of the Anglo-Allied Army. :D As for the Tirailleurs et Dragons of France, they aren't even a real unit under the same command... :P Least the Black Menace is a part of an actual command structure. ;) But alas we can all argue about pride all we want, we all know the Austrians are the best! :)

Remind you again I am not the actual Prussian Army Commander, though you could consider it that was with my command of the Combined Armies. I only see Ed Blackburn posting for unit commanders and you of course. Regardless every army should be posting their officers awards in the public forum....I was doing it for years with John Corbin doing it for the French....people used to complain, so I just started posting the link to the Prussian newsletter....but I take no credit for having invented it....it has happened for years prior to us coming and will happen when we are long gone.

General, <salute> , my comments were carrying on a banter wit General Ludwig wherein he was awaiting the anniverisary of Leipzig - which as I said in my opinion had Davout commanded a wing of the Army instead of Ney the war would have been over n the spring and there would have been no Leipzig to celebrate - Lutzen and Bautzen would have been another Jena / auerstead - a great French Victory - which as you point out there were so many it is had to recall them all.

Ach du Lieber, Mein Herr! And here I thought you were paying attention...

You have obviously missed the posts of Marco Reitveld and Vincent Maddis. They are the other two Anglo-Allied Commanders who are tasked with making announcements for the men in their units along with Ed and myself. Initially, I told Marco that I would be the 'free safety' for such announcements, making sure that all were handled in the event that the trend did not catch on with the other commanders as both Marco and I hoped it would. In the beginning, I did have to make some 'saves', but that has not happened in quite some time. The Anglo-Allied Commanders have taken to their tasks, and are performing them well, despite the fact that you missed the subtle change in our operations. My point is to give the men credit where it is due. That is the goal for both of us, and some others. I just wanted to be certain that they were not overshadowed by your blanket statement which I knew to be incorrect. :D :D :D

Regarding the Hanoverian Brigade, my point actually was that we are a part of the Anglo-Allied Army as a whole.

Eh I pay attention when I care to and my leveling of caring is not the same as yours these days....

I do recall some mindless dribbling by your Spanish Brigade Commander but for the life of me I could not finding anything about the Dutch in the past year roughly....regardless you're an army twice our size, naturally you'll have more commanders willing to do these things....but alas, Prussia has our own plan underway.... 8)   :!:

The Dutch are handled by their Corps Commander, Marco Reitveld, and he has been posting on their behalf. I suspect the reason that you do not see a lot of postings for the I Corps is because the senior officers in the Corps have generally maxed out in rank and medals, and the junior officers in the Corps are not really very active.

We did not seek new commanders in the Anglo-Allied Army to do these things. We simply inspired the existing ones to take up the reins. There is more work to be done, but credit is always due for what has actually been accomplished.

Looking forward to the 'Prussian Reform'.
