So, let them do their job and earn money. We will have fun for our money and this is good way.

Well, I talked to Rich Hamilton about a discount on the HPS/JTS titles. Here is what he can offer to us:

For Games on Physical Disks - Buy 3, Get 2 Free. This is a 40% discount when you buy 5 or more games at once. There is no limit on the order or restrictions on the number of titles.

For Digital Downloads - These titles are already discounted 20% below the physical disks, so both John Tiller (JTS) and Scott Hamilton (HPS) are really not willing to discount them further. Rich Hamilton did say that might be able to give our members a free game for a big order once the order is processed.

I'm not sure how he handles direct download (perhaps only for games that he produces himself), but Chris Dean at Naval Warfare Simulations still sells HPS computer games even though he's shifted most of his business from computer to board games.

The base price of the HPS games he sells tends to be the best out there. Because he's not a giant like Amazon he doesn't get the same deep discounts from shippers that they do, but even so he's usually the cheapest way to go for U.S. domestic purchases. I don't know how his shipping costs compare to HPS', but his prices are comparable to the HPS discount, except that you don't have to buy three games at full price to get it.

Where he really shines is in customer service. If there's any question about anything and you call the number listed on his website, you'll probably end up speaking to the man himself sitting at his kitchen table. And he's great for tracking down used copies of out-of-print boardgames.

Thank you Mr. President.

Also, please express my sincere thanks to Mr. Hamilton on his kind offer.

Sometimes, It is not about the money, but feeling rewarded and appreciated as a customer.

I just bought a digital download of Waterloo, I guess I shall download more titles soon.

Is that discount still alive?
And if so, could Napoleonic games be combined with buying some Civil War games?

Fernando interesting proposition, which I totally agree, I think I do not ask for anything unreasonable.
We are a club that consume games HPS / Tiller, just an incentive for members and a benefit to the sales of those games we requested.
And this is where you have to ask that option, how many more people we are, the better.
Take this opportunity to ask a question:
There are other clubs like this that play these games?.
And if so, which ones?.
Thank you.

Regards.

I have just downloaded the HPS Waterloo title and I'm amazed at the price it was on the HPS website retailing at $39.95 and with current exchange rates through my mastercard I got it at £16.46 which is a steal and free expansion packs as well I'm very happy will have Leipzig and Napoleons Russian Campaign by the end of the week.

Saying that if I'd bought the disk I'd be looking at around £30.00 including shipping which is still not bad. A lot less than the kids Wii games.

To find out if there is a discount for buying 5 games (or any other discounts), send an email to Rich Hamilton at support@johntillersoftware.com .

He also does support for HPS and should be able to answer question about both companies.

Rich always makes timely answers to support questions and is always helpful.

I would think that the discounts previously arranged do still apply, but you might have to remind Rich. I have no idea how many people have taken advantage of them, or how often purchases have been made.

Lt. Hecht,
It has been some years now (pre-digital download era), but when I last used the 5 title deal I mixed Civil War and Panzer Campaign games..

Thanks for the effort gentlemen and I for one appreciate the thoughts, efforts and considerations on this subject.
I have most of the titles, the older ones in CD and the newer ones on download. However I have yet to get time to play past Leipzig. The two newest will be purchased once I have played a few more games

But from a personal view point I believe all the games are value for money and are the current pinnacle of Napoleonic war gaming either board, computer or figure!

A discount is great and appreciated. The current cost is still value for money for the time and attention to historical detail a number of experts in the field have contributed.

Salute - to them all and to those of us who enjoy their considerable efforts :!:

Now my most pressing priority is:

HOW ABOUT THE WHOLE DAMNED PENNINSULER WAR FOR GOD"S SAKE!!!!!

INCLUDING PORTUGAL AND THE LINES OF TORRES VEDRAS :D

I DROOL AT THE THOUGHT :P

I fully agree, Mike. A second title with Anglo-Allied tropps is very much needed as we have long had only the one. :) :D :P

Besides, now that the Coalition officers have mastered the art of routinely defeating the French Old Guard with E Morale Conscripts, we would appreciate the opportunity to learn to do the same with F Morale Spanish Militia.
