16th,1815
14:00: Marching to the sound of guns is a wondrous thing muses General Picton as he urges his men forward. “On you blaggards, you scoundrels, on!”

June 16th 1815
14:15 hrs: As the French and Prussian armies exchange preliminary exchanges the Anglo Allies take to the field and are encouraged as the Dutch Horse Artillery take the first honours against their French adversaries. June 16th, 1815
14:15 hrs: More and more batteries are unlimbering at the front lines,
and the gunners seek the range to the enemy.

From one end of the battlefield to the other the units of the opposing armies continue to maneuver ever closer to each other.

Very, very soon, the clash of arms will begin in fierce earnest.

June 16th, 1815
15:00 hrs: The artillery fire increases, belching flames the length of the battle line.

The lower slopes of Tongrinne Hill are astir with chains of skirmishers and columns of battalions opposing one another.

At Ligny on the French left wing, an Allied force advances in strength towards the village.

L'Empereur listens to the reports of his staff officers, and remains content to gaze out across the field of battle.
15:00 hrs June 16th 1815
The sound of gunfire is coming across a broad front, the cloying smoke is masking the field of battle, the cries of the wounded can be heard periodically in the brief gaps between gunfire.

Blucher sits tall in his saddle, his countenance giving his men courage. The young Prince of Orange spies the crests of Napoleons young guard on the outskirts of Ligny. “A bloody day Gentlemen!” as he confides to his aides.

Blood & Thunder are the order of the day.

The entire Prussian line is under assault, We trust in God and the superior musketry and mettle of our men.

The allies have pushed into Ligny only to find more French encamped within the village obviously dallying with the beautiful Belian women!
